325i trackday pads?

Hi  forum newbie here, with a question on pads.

Trackhack 325i whats best- stock brake sizes.

I run GSF Pagid FRs on a lighter Golf trackhack although they do crumble I can't moan at them for the price, but GSF no longer stock & think the extra weight of the bimmer might given an even harder time.

Pagid race pads, blue or yellow etc always great reviews, massive price tag, ferodos as adverised in the zone shop are again pricey, & on Golf- were ok but not really that long lasting for wear & still crumble a bit.

Mintex 1155s the way to go? not been impressed by 1144s on the Golf

(Car will have braided lines, no backing plates & proper stopping juice etc & might rig up some cooling ducts)

Cheers

Welcome..

Last year, I was on a serious budget and used ATE power discs and EBC Redstuff in my track car with very good results considering the cost.
The car had braided hoses and DOT 5.1 fluid.
:D

What, no more golf?

You'll not want to hear it but i'm going to reccommend EBC again. I run ATE power disks and EBC greens on the front and standard disks and pads on the rear. Not had problems but i can see that they'd struggle with quicker places like combe and silverstone. EBC red have apparently improved hugely in the last year or so, could well be worth a punt.
My engine's goosed at the moment so you're welcome to what's left of my EBC greens if you want (about 50% ish).

Fear not Golfy not gone, got to keep somat fast in the track fleet, now ive gone bimmer again :P

Thanks for the offfer on the greens, I shall pass tho.

Its odd with the EBCs, mates in Golfs have loved the yellows & the other Golf I've shared we've used a few sets on track & all fine, but on mine although I thought they were ace on road, but utter utter utter cack for me on track tho, both lasted 3 sessions max wharped discs & pad lift & I tried 2 difernet sets, both awful, ran reds on my 944T & were not great on road, but that expecetd form atrack pad, didnt track that car so cant comment.

I would be willing to give the yellows or reds a go on the bimmer tho if they generally get the thumbs up, ran 'em on my bike for years with no complaints.

mintex M1155's with ate powerdisks. good for the ring good for any track. The pads are not road legal anymore though. They were when i bought them! They are what alot of the seloc cars use

Pagid RS 29 yellows, You will not be able to cook them as they such a high temp rating. And once warm they will stop anything. Leave the EBC stuff there crap and Ds 2500 are only fast road pads and not quite up to the job. Mintex are good but look on there site for some high temp pads. A track day will really give your pads and fluid a hammering so consider changing the fluid to something that can handle the heat.

I used to run 1155 and 1166 on the racer on standard discs but with Castrol SRF, no problems whatsoever, superb pads

Ferrodo DS2500 worked very well at the ring.
