What tyres are best?

Hi guys,

Ive got a 320is thats just had full M3 suspension fitted, and I was wondering what tyres are best to fit. Ive got BBS M3 15in rims (really wanted 16s but cant find any anywhere  ) so I think Ill go with 205/55x15 tyres.

But what make!? Anybody got any ideas? I want a good road tyre, as I'm unlikely to be using it on track.

Thanks in advance,

Tony

Cool - I'll do a bit of homework on this now.

I take it generally Toyos are the way ahead?

My choice,

1.Goodyear Eagle f1's
2.toyo's T1S or t1r
3. R888's as its a road car and winter, i don't think semi slicks are a great idea

If money was no object, i would like to try michelin pilot sport premicy's(spel?)

Interesting. The car will only be used on the road and it's my only means of transport - I'm looking at a balance of good grip, reasonale wear and wet weather performance too. But are the Michelins available in that size?

Just checked on blackcircles, Toyo t1 r are the only ones theyve got of the sort we've talked about - 65 each fully fitted.

try www.mytires.co.uk

For 15s should be approx £40 each delivered, obviously fitting is extra.

Toyo are great, but dont last very long. Did a set of rears in 1 trackday.

The Toyo R1R work well on my 323i on the road and the track, wet or dry. They are a targa rally type tyre. Dunno what sizes they come in though, mine are 205/50/16.

You might also consider using 205/50-15s, at least on the front. The shorter sidewall gives a more direct feel to steering. If you fit them at the rear too, your speedo will overrread by 3% - not such a big deal.
