This war of 318i v 323/5i lol well i think the 318i would be the better car for cadwell! its got the weight advantage and with one or two mods hear and there the 318i would trumph over the rest! give them hell schuey!!!!

Well..... It was fookin slippy
Roads this morn were lethal as many motorists had learnt the hard way!
Track was covered in frost and ice so we (sensibly) waited till those in charge decided it was safe,at which point we did the sighting laps at warp speed!

First session was plain scary with the slick track-had a huge third gear drift on out of mansfield followed by a spin and some grass tracking, all caught on camera!

As for the battle of the engines.... The e30 track cars there were faster, but they were nicely set up machines.
However a road spec 325 sport was equal on the straights but slower out of corners.
Too close to call today, but in the dry the IS would rule!

I though my car was great till I went in my mates 996/911 turbo 520bhp,awesome :D

Yep, it was a very slippy track today although it had a drying line by lunch time for about an hour, then came the rain. Winter trackdays eh, you've got to love em.

Sorry I didn't get to talk to you today Schuey but everybody looked full of busy including us, so thought it best not to interrupt.

Thats cool, the dry patch was sweet-I need some better tyres though!
Was going to come over but I was never in the pits at the same time, your car looked cool though.
That chaps escort cosworth didn't look so nice after it went through the tyres!

Will no doubt see you there again

I, no doubt our paths will cross again, hopefully in the summer when it's nice enough to stand and chat.

Your right about that escort, did you take a close look at it in the paddock. What a mess, just about ripped the side clean out of it...

He was driving it like he had stole it,how he crashed on the straight I don't know,he was about to overtake my mates clio and he said he pulled over to let him by,looked in the mirror and saw him heading for the barriers  he kissed the barrier coming out of the hairpin on his first outlap looked a badass car too.

Apparently it had a monster Turbo that kicked in with a bang at over 4K revs. So, slippy track no power under 4K and then bang you suddenly have 550bhp. If that's true then no wonder it spat him off the track.

It was a good day I thought despite the cold weather track was a bit scary first session out but once I got used to the conditions it was a good laugh. Saw your car schuey it looked mint but as lowpro says we were all a bit busy so never got chance to chat.

Had a nice few laps with a 325i trackcar in red like ours and another E30 just in front of him dark blue I think with lots of coloured stickers, got quite a bit of footage on vid to go through hopefully got some good footage.

shame about the cossie I saw him potter round of boost till he went over the mountain then it just lit up the tyres and he only just caught it, what an animal.

Bugger... never realised there was a track day on. I was only 5 miles away at my parents place... but i did have the mother of all hangovers yesterday (which was worth it after getting a date with an airline stewardess!)

Glad you had a good time. Will make every effort to come to the next one.

between us we have 2 cds worth of photos to sort through,I'm told there are some of the various E30's sliding out of the hairpin winkeye

Will post some up once I get them. I was quite impressed with that black tvr-that chap had some skills

He was sideways from the hairpin all the way round barn on to the straight!
I was struggling with my sh1t tyres round there,I do believe I was sideways in front of you or that other red e30 whilst that bloody e-type was getting in my way :D

Aye that jag was a pain I wish they would use the blue flag a little not all the time, I was stuck behind the jag and a seven trying to get past and there were six others snapping at my heels.

there is a bit of footage of your car I think, and you were behind the jag with the same seven behind you lowpro got a bit of a run out of the turn and made it past the jag on the straight. 8O

Here's a bit of footage with three E30s qualities not to good sadly as the lens cover on my bullet cam got smashed and condensation got in.
