E30 316 LSD Help??

Hi we have a Bmw E30 316 and want to put a LSD in it so it plays a bit nicer sideways!
Any ideas how we can do this as no where does them off the shelf for the 316 is there any others that would fit from other models?
Also what are recommendations for ratio?

What surface are you driving on?

Take a look in the Differential wiki page:

As far as I know all E30 differentials are interchangeable.
Your stock diff should be a 3.91 / 3.64 small case open differential.
Considering the above the safest option would be a 3.91 medium case LSD from a 325i
However I would recommend a 4.10 medium case LSD considering that it would make your 316 more lively while accelerating.
Also are you running a 4-speed or a 5-speed box?
