Id definately be up for getting a zone track day going. A warm up for the ring trip perhaps?

If anyone is interested we can sort out a venue that is good for everyone.

I'd be up for one dowwwwn south, track day or airfield day?

Airfield day is better for those novices amoung us, *i put my hand up in shame* but possibly to boring for the track slags?

There is a track day in south wales on 4th March guys,

I tried organising an airfiled day, but is too expensive unless you can get sponsering, Bruntingthope wanted Ԛ£6K iirc for the strip for the day, then you need public liability insurance and safey people on hand, both ontop of the Ԛ£6K. Not cheap!

Would be good if we could do it and get a mag to pay for it winkeye

I know what you mean by gaging to get out onto the track, here on the Isle of Man our first track day is in April 8O so that means traveling which is too expensive for me at the moment, 'm going to wait until spring / summer then off to Anglesey. So I thought I would try something different..An Isle of Man hill Climb, two infact and a pursuit event over part of the track day course, all over three days. The car needs to hold a MOT and have safety equipment, cage, harness etc

You just need a competition licence (Ԛ£33 from the MSA) you need to get a basic medical by your doctor (Ԛ£20 cash in hand and p*** in a bottle!)

Have a look at the hill climb link below:
http://www.iomguide.com/news/general-ne ... ory=100020

Something different hu? :D
Might be something similar near you?
Cheers
Ian

I think it would be better if we went on a day organised by a track day company rather than organise our own? I reckon this time of year and with enough of us we should be able to get on a decent track (brands, donny, oulton etc) for under Ԛ£150 each.

Any suggestions on dates? Il have a look and see whats around.

If you check out Track and Racecar mag it lists all the available dates and venues for the coming couple of months. If you shop around prices start as low as Ԛ£99!!

Got 4 booked up upto march at the mo, pre race practise

unfortunately the first 3 (Bedford, Cadwell, Silverstone) are Lotus organised days (i'll be in my bimmer though).

But on 22 March, me and a few other PBMW (old miltek guys) are doing castle combe in prep for our first race there on the 25th March. Its Ԛ£135 with BaT sessioned day.

Also doing 22nd March, first run out in the race car so will hopefully have it built by then. Skint tho, so two of us (both new PBMW racers for this year) will be sharing one car to see what drops off/needs changing/needs fixing before the first race meeting on Saturday.

I will probably be up for the 22nd March ast Combe, I only live 30mins away.

Only problem is my car is in bits at the moment and if I book it and doesn't manage to get it back together its a waste.

Also need to buy new parts (currently still running standard suspension) but I suppose I could just leave that til later and run it standard 8O

Would still be a laugh

I'm basically a shell still at the mo, trackday on 28th Jan- busy 2 weeks me thinks :(

You definitely win there mate. Good luck but I'm sure you will be finished.

My problem is that

a) I don't have a garage or anything to work in so it is all done outside on the drive
b) Cause of the above its generally weekends only
c) Most importantly I don't really know what I'm doing

But hey its all fun!! Hope to see you at Combe

BaT are organising the combe day on 22nd March

Iv used bookatrack a lot, they are great to deal with. If were going to do one all together we need to find somewhere that people can all get to, midlands would be good??

If not, i could organise a group for a southern/midlands day and someone else could organise a northern day?

Donny is a mission for me but 99 is very cheap. As far as dates go, im totally easy but to throw a random time in, how about mid feb?

Going to arrange a track day @ the Haynes motor museum, Ԛ£25 / Ԛ£30 all day session!

Small track, one car at a time, but apparently it's a right laugh!

I'm doing a track day at Silverstone again this Sunday 22nd Jan.

There is normally a couple of E30's trying to keep up with the GT3 RS's. Anyone interested should come and see how it all works, it really is the most fun you can have in road car.

Ceeman, what car are you taking? I might be able to get to that one, its quite close to me. Who's organising it and whats the noise limit? Might even bring the DTM out to play :D

I use a 1990 325 Sport, it's a had a few mods to make it more fun on the circuit, it could just do with a bit more power now winkeye

I always use Goldtrack (http://www.goldtrack.co.uk) they are very well organised.

I live about 10 minutes from Silverstone so it's very easy for me, i've done every silverstone day since October last year

It looks like it's gonna be a dry day too, so should be a fast one!!!

Just having a general look round the forum as I just signed up today but this post caught my eye.

My friend mentioned a track day at brands for around Ԛ£100 which is coming up soon, I will find out some more details and post them up when I have them.

If anyone fancies visiting Magny-Cours in June, then let me know. I organise driving holidays and track days in Europe and have hired out the GP Circuit for Monday the 18th June. Costs are basically Ԛ£500 and covers 1 car, 2 people, ferries, 2 nights accomodation, a rep to look after you and exclusive use of the track all day. There's not much room for discount becasue there's barely a margin in it (I do it for the enjoyment, not the money) but will see if I can sort out a discount if a few cars want to come along. more details can be found at the link below.

feel free to PM me if you wish. Thanks.

MSV are running a day at Snetterton this saturday (28th Jan). Im taking my 325i sport and my brother (also a zoner) is taking his 318is. It would be good to see a few more E30's up there. Cost is Ԛ£149 and its open pit lane too, just hope it doesn't snow!
