Coilover spring rate

I bought a set of 2nd hand Gaz gold coilovers a while back, and fitted the fronts last weekend. The car sits really low, so much so that it won't get off my drive even with them wound right out! So I've put the normal struts back on while I search for a solution.

The springs are 6" long, and have 500 marked on them so I'm guessing they are 500lb springs. Thing is, my car has an m30 fitted and so a fair bit heavier than the standard m20.

Would just using a higher poundage but same length spring help, and if so any recommendations to try to start with? Or should I use a longer and higher poundage spring? If it helps, the car has a 24mm Whiteline front ARB fitted, and is a trackday car but still road legal to drive to and from tracks and have a bit of weekend fun in.

Thanks, Jer

If you want longer/stronger springs then try faulkners, they do them in all sorts of lengths & weights,

Can't help otherwise, sorry.

If the car is sitting low why can't you wind the platform up to a position that means the car isn't sitting on the floor?

sounds like who ever had them before you might have changed the springs & bought ones that are to short,

have you thought of trying helper springs??

Hi. I use 7" 650lb fronts with 2.5" 225lb helpers with an M20 lump.....500 on a 6 inch spring sounds too soft esp with a heavier front end.
