Hey

This seems the most logical place to post this. Mods let me know if it should be moved.

Where is the best place to get an 'in date' race suit? I don't mind buying used or renting short term.

I've bought both of mine off ebay.

I don't think they don't need to be in date like karting suits but need to be to the correct standard as noted in the blue book.

That's interesting to know as the guys organising my local sprints told me it has to be in date for fire regs. I will check with them again. Out of interest which ones did you go for?

It's on page 164/165 for this link http://www.msauk.org/uploadedfiles/msa_ ... arbook.pdf

FIA 8856-2000 for racing

for sprints and hill climbs you can use either the FIA 8856-2000 or the 1986 standard but realistically the 1986 standard will be phased out first so I'd aim to find something to 8856-2000

I've got an alpine star suit which I've accidentally become a little to large for so bought a sparco suit which allows be to move whilst I diet a little! both fine.

Thanks pal. That's probably what they meant by in date. I heard about the 86 phasing too. The whole helmet rule is really annoying, balaclavas are much more effective and that way we could wear a standard bike helmet.
