17" wheels on a e30

Hi has anybody tried 17" wheels and competition tyres on a e30.?ive been offered a set that are e30 pcd but don't wont to pay carriage if there no good.the tyres are equal to 205/60x. 17.thanks

I started this thread about the very same thing a while back... Still haven't got round to fitting slicks though, but I think they will fit.

Would 205/60 profile on 17" wheels not catch the inner arch/chassis rail on full lock?

205 60 17s wont fit, the tyre profile is too big, you need 205/40 17s

He's talking about competition tyres which have sizes expressed differently.

210(mm wide) 610(mm overall diamter) 17 would be fine.

For comparison the overall diameter of the original 205 55 15 tyre is 606.5mm.

Thanks guys. I no the e30 m3 s run 17 and sometimes 18s but was unsure about normal arched cars. Makes the fitting of my brake kit easier too!!!!

I run 17s on mine with Toyo R888's (205/40 R17) and going to go to 215s in the near future.

No issues whatsoever! :thumb:

Also llows me to run my 330mm front brakes with ease.... :twisted:
