If there is, and you're expecting to drive in Touristenfahrten, I hope your insurance covers it!
For this reason, I have (almost) given up on TF and now do 2 or 3 closed trackdays there instead. I was there for 2 days at the beginning of April and it was fantastic. Booked again for a day in October, followed by 2 days at Spa

Ahhh that sucks donkey ass, Id love to take the E30 round there
You could try and contact them to see if anyone has pulled out? I honestly cant believe how quickly it sold out!
Me neither Andrew. I think there are a lot of Italians etc who book a lot of places. Darren had a block booking with Circuit Days for the Spa event immediately following. I guess if he doesn't sell them as a package, he may free up some more places for DN6.
You going to make it this time? I felt very embarrassed in April when I wandered up to a guy with an E30 and asked "Are you Andrew?" He seemed somewhat perplexed why some random would come up and ask him that!

I missed the last one because of not getting on to the list quickly enough, so I thought I would not sit on my hands this time.
I'll be going for sure, plus my two bosses, Karan and my friend Rob in a red e30 M3. It looks like we will all trailer our cars there, mines is too extreem now to drive that far and the others don't have road legal cars.
I'm really looking forward to it, it's been a few years since the last time my car has been there. Poor old thing.
Come say hi if you are going!

Well, it's almost time to go! I'm on the ferry from 'ull to Rottenjam on Friday. Staying in Nurburg at Pension Jungstroof (across road from Burgstuge) on Saturday and Sunday, then off to Spa on Monday evening after DN6. Hope the weather behaves itself!
See you there D/C!

Evening before we leave, the rain started, car has not seen a drop of water for over a year!
A big thank you to Martin (TrackM3) for puling out all the stops to get my custom rear adjustable M3 Sport Evolution style boot spoiler and front replica Flossman splitter ready in time for the trip, certainly I can see why the DTM cars ran them, night and day high speed stability with minimal drag. Worth every penny!
There was some last minute tweaks,
Acetal trailing arm bushes, very close fit as they were all hand turned to very tight tolerances.
Next up was the rack lock stops, ruining the flossman front splitter and 27mm front ARB means the wheels touch both on full lock, so I made up an acetal lock stop, dead simple, just undo the inner tie rod and using a soft/dead blow hammer knock the stop on, job done and minimal weight. Just to add this was my first trip since fitting the club sport rack, and I can positively say its by far one of the best modifications ive made to the car, coupled with the BMW MS electric PS pump, it was flawless, no over heating, perfect feedback/weighting and very fast precise steering input, very pleased!
Then lowering all round by 10mm as all the weight saving has raised the car somewhat to the specs laid out by BMW MS, a little more effort with the AST race dampers as the collars are designed for abuse, but worth the effort as the car was incredibly stable and flat in the bends.
Then tracking using the old tried and tested fishing line method.
The rear was absolutely perfect (front needed a little more work).
More to come as I get photos in.

What's the state of play with the 'ring now?
Are they going bust (ie closing) or has their rumoured financial crisis been repaired?

Sorry I missed you Andrew. I had problems with a bent trailing arm which meant I didn't want to do too many laps at the Ring. We used my lad's Hondalise at the Ring until an electrical fault caused us to lose some time in the morning, then he went and blew the clutch in the afternoon Took the E30 out for a few laps in the afternoon but not a lot. However, had a great time at Spa - even with a "loose" rear end

They are pretty boring laps.

Thanks Andy, yeah it is about that sort of time. Im still not sure of the track or the car, so there are bends (the larger radius ones) im holding back and the back straights, my engine just doesnt have the horse power to pull high speeds up there. I also had some issues with the aero aids, all in all, it was good to be finally driving the car
