I've booked this day through Club MSV.

Are there any other zoners going??

Currently trying to decide between this and a track day in the same week for last fun of the year...

Have you been on one of these before? It would appeal more to me as a cheaper half-day event, not sure if a whole day is maybe a bit much for such a thing? I'm hoping to be corrected though!

Yes mate,

I've done a couple. Unless laughing your bollox off for a whole day is too much then I guess you'll love it!!

It annoys me just to come off track to have a wee it's that much fun!!

There are two circuits as well so you won't get bored as you can keep swapping between the two. (My sig pic is on the bottom circuit).

The surface is very shiny and slippery so you get hardly any tyre wear at all!

If you've not done it before and you're not a drift pro I would highly recommend it!!

If you are already seriously good and capable confident of 100mph plus drifts then this is probably not for you.

You will probably only be doing 50-60mph max at this circuit.

What I would say is that doing these drift days has made me faster on track days!

It takes a lot more control to drift!! (Properly)

Providing I can get the car sorted in the next week or so I'll get it booked - so hopefully see you there!

They are damn good days and although i did not think it at the time they are as furbster says very useful practice for trackdays and car control in general.

+1! These days are great for fun and being quicker for trackdays...

Alas, I won't be there drifting as my (just installed) 265 gearbox has just thrown a wobbly and needs to come out again........!

Will come along to watch though...

What's up with the gearbox Mike? Nothing serious I hope.

Nothing serious - just an error on my part really! Being in a bit of a rush, I didn't take the rebuild far enough so I think there is a layshaft bearing that's gone kaputt...

Otherwise the install went well - whilst the box is out (again), I am going to take the opportunity to update the gearshift as well using M3 and Z3 parts to restore the shift to something a bit less sloppy... Driving the box felt great though - ratios spot on and a better action than the old 260...

Fingers crossed that I make the drifting - a great way to prove out mods before the rigours of a trackday!

Good to hear Mike. Layshaft bearings are quite common. I take it your box "talks to you" when out of gear, foot off clutch and at idle then?

BTW, you have a 265 or a 262? You say 265 above but I had a funny feeling you'd bought a 262, not sure why. If its a 265 then at least you don't have to worry about learning the dogleg shift pattern (aka putting her in reverse when pulling away at traffic lights).

Yep - it is indeed a layshaft bearing talking quite a bit at idle with my foot off the clutch...!

I have bought a 262 dogleg box!! Getting used to the dogleg pattern is trickier than I thought.. Easy for drifting though at Oulton Park as the surface is low friction so just creep away in 2nd and nail the throttle - no gearchanges required!!

Ah, I thought it was a 262 (not a 265). Well worth all the troubles of getting used to the dogleg pattern. Hopefully you'll be able to get her ready for Oulton Park in time? Sounds like a lot of fun.

I shall have to book a winter trackday instead to prove out the 262 box...!

Would love to have a chat about your S50 conversion and have a peek! Might be able to give you some pointers on cold air feeds as well (ref - your thread on S50s...)

As I've not finished putting the car back together over the weekend (and the day has sold out) I'm not going to be able to make this unfortunately.
Will definitely be booking one for December or Feb though based on the above reports!

Great to meet the Furbster at the drift day! Will email you those B&B linkys for some other places to stay near Oulton.. Let me know when you are coming back up so we can have that beer.. The S50 conversion is awesome - sounds fantastic!!

My gearbox held out a treat...! Trackday next, then I shall start to think about engines...

Well, another fantastic day of drifting and am pleased to say that the S50 behaved perfectly. (That was it's first drift day)!

Was really good to MikeyBoy and his buddies and lots of useful information gleaned!!

Mike_ I tried ECP for that E32 750 iL Master Cylinder today and they are quoting just under £200. I'm gonna give some breakers a try.

Next track day for me is Sat 11th Dec at Brands Hatch if anyones up for it???

I think I paid about £80 for mine... Breakers definitely a good first port of call - otherwise might be worth contacting the manufacturers direct - I believe its ATE:
