hi there
im amazed with my cars new handling i recently fitted a e36 rack and adjustable top mounts. what a difference the rack makes specially for doing a bit of drifting it so much faster. i dont know wheather im correct but i can go alot faster into corners with the adjustable top mounts i have them set at -1.5 degrees is that ok for road use. if i set them to -3 degrees would it make much differnce to tyre wear and handling?
thanks in advance nicky

Hi Nicky - I am currently running GAZ coilovers with adjustable top mounts with 2.5 degrees neggy at the front and 8 degrees castor. I am also running a Z3 rack.. No issues with tyre wear so far (R888's) but the only thing I find is that the car tends to tramline a bit on the road, but that's a small price to pay for the better turn in on the track and for drifting. Standard set up I think allows up to nearly 2 degrees camber and 9ish degrees castor? I haven't tried any more camber yet. Worthwhile to follow some set up principles depending on primary use (road or track) but of course you should go with what feels best for you!
Cheers,

Hi Steve - honestly, I have no idea! I asked the guys at RPM for their best judgement for my car - it's a trackday car that's driven to and from the track - they took it from there and I have to say, it's been very good so far!
And before anyone suspects - I have nothing to do with Gaz!! Would suggest you get in touch with them - very helpful bunch!

Glad to here the cars going well Mikey, try a bit more camber on your next trackday and see how you find it, we run the race cars at -4 to -5 degrees on a dry day.
That would give you tyre wear issues on the road though
Steve- I have just emailed you

Shameless post entry so that I can find this post easily when the car goes in for geo setup in a couple of weeks!
