Oulton Park Xmas driftday Dec 19th

We are off to Oulton Park again on the Saturday before xmas for another driftday.
For those that have not done this before, it’s the perfect way to learn how to drift your RWD or 4WD car and see how it handles and reacts in a slide. The low grip surface is very kind on tyres causing almost zero wear even after a full day of driving sideways! No problem if you are a complete novice, it’s a fun day out and a great way to practice your oversteer skills.
Same format as usual, full access to both drift stages and free instruction available all day to make sure you get the feel for it, you can even get one of our annoyingly talented instructors to drive you round to see what your car can do!
The discounted club rate is £120 for the day (£140 list price), passengers are a tenner and extra drivers £35.
So if you are looking for the perfect way to get out of the shopping on the last Saturday before xmas or if you want to ask SWMBO for something better than a pair of socks as a present this year then shout up and we’ll get you booked in!
Hope a few of you can make it along.

Will most probably be up for this one... as long as I have a car for it!
My sig pic was taken there last year!!
Sooooooooooo much fun!!
Steve is right about about tyre wear by the way... it's like driving on polished marble and will not affect your tyres at all if you keep the pressures right!!

Hi,
Which part of the track do they use? Or is there a smaller track inside the main one?
Could be interested...
Sounds like a fun day
Cheers

It's the two tarmac drift stages on the infield -
It's low grip tarmac so doesn't need massive power to drift on and won't muller your tyres

.
Best recommend is the number of guys who keep coming back to do it cos it's so much fun

I'll be in a dolphin grey sport if anyone wants to say hello.
How many cars will there be altogether assuming a full booking?

We generally run mid-twenties to allow plenty of track time for everyone.

What's with all this whit shit on the roads????
We've had about a foot of snow in Medway and they have closed the M2 and the M20 down here which are my only ways out!!
God I hope it defrosts soon!! It's about a 5 hour drive for me to Oulton so I was planning on leaving about lunchtime as I'm staying at the Travelodge tonight but I can't if the bloody roads are closed!!

i think they can make a phone call to the DVLA and check your license. I have just done a trackday at oulton, blue sky dry track but very cold, damn good trackday though.

Awesome day, sooo much fun. Big thanks again to Steve and Phil.
Did the guy who rolled it get home okay and does anybody know who the photographer was? He got some cracking photos of me and also one embarresing one as after about 10 laps of getting pretty much perfect everytime on one particular corner I decided to put one arm out of the window for a photo and span right in front of him!! Dick!!

lol

Hi fellas
Thanks for the feedback, glad you had a good time yesterday. Mid-morning I was pretty worried that we could get closed for noise but didn't want to water the courses in case it froze!

Fortunately that didn't happen and I think the afternoon session was probably the most consistent surface that we've seen all year!
There was a couple of guys out taking photos but I'm still tracking them down so I'll post again as soon as I've got some shots of the day
Next driftday will be on March 13th so hope to see you all again then.
Cheers

Glad you guys were OK, that's the main thing!
We were trying to avoid the water as I was worried that it would freeze and then it would be day over

.
In the end we had no choice as Oulton were ready to close us because of the tyre noise so it had to be wetted - this always splits the drivers, some love it wet and some hate it but ultimately it's out of our hands and had to be done!
Good to see it hasn't put you off and we'll see you at the next one anyway

Another good days drifting with trackaction,, didn't do as much driving as i would have liked as i was having bother with a shoulder injury.
I was sharing my E30 with a mate on the basis that the drift circuit is super safe and very little can go wrong,, I could not believe my eyes when we left the cafe and saw an E30 laid on its side.
Have never seen anything like that before and was just a little nervous for the rest of the day

, good to hear all were ok and got home safely.
