Car control and drifting at Oulton Park Saturday 25th July

We’re off playing on the Oulton Park drift stages again, this time it’s on Saturday July 25th and of course we are counting on a few of the E30 members to come along and show the rest how it's done

.
This is a bit of what we get up to ”“
This is a great fun event and a good way to learn how your car reacts when it runs out of grip. As an extra bonus, even after a full day drifting, the low friction surface on the drift stages at Oulton give virtually zero tyre wear! You also don't need mega power to do this, pretty well any rwd will do the job

.
List price for this one is £140 for the day but we are doing the usual members rate of £120, extra drivers can sign in for £35 and passengers for a tenner. Free instruction is included so it's no problem if you haven't tried it before - if you'd like to come along please shout up on here and I'll PM you the booking details and a discount code .
Cheers

Think myself and a couple of mates might be booking up for this one,, might just rag his 328 round and give the old E30 a rest,, that's if he agrees.
damn good fun these.
carlrst one of the lads that shared my E30 had never driven a rear steer in his life and he was drifting good style in just minutes.

I'll be going to this in my new toy
Leon... I think it was you that took me out in your white E30 at the last drift day? I was in my mother-in-law's standard MX-5.
I told you that going in yours would make me want to buy one!!

Do you need a LSD to get the most of this?
I don't have one fitted in my E30 yet, but might have one in time. My other car has one but is auto, twin turbo and possibly too much of a handful, so I don't know which one I'd take.

The camera one was probably Stoney, he usually does some filming. Looks like there should be a really good BMW showing for this one as we have some guys from the Z3 and Z4 forums interested as well

LSD always helps but then so does a manual box

, TBH you can drift in almost anything RWD on the oulton stages so I think you'll be ok with the E30 if that's what you want to use.
What model is your other car?

still not me. I must have left an inpresion. Lol. To be fare it was not till after lunch my frend who came to take photowes realised ther wure two red e30's. I'll see you there.
I had loads of fun without an LSD last time. The stage is sutch an odd surface. I defanatley cannot distribute power (not that I have mutch) aswell on normal tarmac. You will have a blast.

My other car is a Maserati 3200GT. Easy to slide with traction control turned off, but not for the faint hearted! The E30 is manual but no LSD.

TBH, I'd bring the E30, you'll probably have more fun in the beemer and the Masser would be a sledgehammer to crack a nut

There are a good number of local B&Bs and they often allow camping at the circuit if there is a race meeting if that's more your cup of tea!
Either way, it's worth the trip
