Bonnet Pins

Well looks like another bit of weight is going shortly. Decided to bin the bonnet lift mechanism, move the windscreen wash nozzles and replace with bonnet pins.

Any recommended places to get them from?
How many will I need? 4 I suspect....
Are there any gotchas or any good advice I should follow?

2 pins, use steel not ally

Use a decent washer underneath

Mercedes sprinter washer jets

If I build another racer i'll probably leave it in though as its a real PITA lifting a steel bonnet on and off

They're also expensive and fade. Bought mine from there, nice red to match the car, just look a cack silver pink now.

The bonnet also wears through the anodised ally ones

Just done this to mine last week!

Fitted a fibreglass bonnet and used 5 pins as it's a single skin and they have a tendancy to lift.

I used wipers with the jets actually on them. Got them from eBay for £23 delivered IIRC, they come with tubing, gromits and connectors that fit straight into the existing plumbing.

I'll find the link and post it for you.
