Solid steering guibos £35 - 1 LEFT

I'll be placing an order with the water jet cutters later this week, if anyone wants one then I can increase my order. Payment will be needed this week.
These are ideal for engine conversions due to the smaller diameter of the alloy guibo compared to the BMW rubber part and it's heatshield. They also remove one of the causes of slop/play in the steering, I've had one fitted to my car for several trackdays and a trip to the Ring and would definitely recommed them.

not a big drama.

It's a matter of grinding the rivet heads off on the rubber guibo, tapping out the remains of the rivet and the fitting the new guibo with the specific nuts and washers from BMW.
I can provide the two parts of the steering coupling with the rubber guibo removed for an additional £15 - you just need to buy the bolts and fit them.

Hi Gussy, an extra £2.50 should cover the additional postage cost to Ireland.

I'm not certain Quaser, I'd imagine the shield on the standard rubber bush is the part which fouls but I couldn't be sure.

how much are the nuts and bolts?

From BMW they are about £9 from memory. In reality any M8 bolt with a washer and locknut would suffice, you pay a premium for the BMW parts as they are a specifically shaped/designed to replace the rivets found in the rubber guibo and as such are quite expensive.

It's really only a few minutes work, undo the two 13mm pinch bolts from the steering linkage, remove the 15mm nut and bolt holding the o/s of the steering rack. Push the rack towards the front of the car and the steering linkage can then be removed. Now just grind the flares off the four rivets holding the rubber guibo in place and they then you can tap/drift them out. Separate the two parts of the steering linkage and fit the the alloy guibo with the four bolts and locknuts with washers. Eliminates any play, increases clearance to the exhaust manifold and will never need touching again as it will not wear.
