Well that was the best 4 wheeled weekend I've had so far!

Qualified twelth on saturday as the session was cut short (only got 8 laps) with a slightly dissapointing 1.00.677 as we had got 59's in a previous test. Was behind a 320 and a Golf GTI who was in my class.

Tried to get away cleanly but as it was my second ever start it wasn't to great and I got mugged by another two 320's and a Scirocco who was in my class. Now down to 3rd in class

Stuck to the 320's and had a slight contact at druids but carried on hounding the Proddy Bmw's and managed to take one with power out of clearways and a lovely manouvre into Paddock got me past the other two. Those Proddy cars are bloody quick through the corners and it was only the 325's grunt that got me ahead and away. Now to catch the Scirocco! Reeled it in after a while and after a bit of a tussle I got past at Paddock and managed to hold it off for a while then he suddenly just dropped back. Result

Tried to catch the GTI but ran out of time as he was coming towards me

Last corner of the last lap and an XJS had spun coming out of Clearways. How long are those bloody things?! Went to pass him between the lefthand side of the track and his rear end. Gap was getting smaller!!! Put your foot on the F***ing brake man

Managed to squeeze between the grass and the Barge and finished 2nd in class and 10th overall with fastest lap in class of 59.253, my fastest yet

Sunday was a lot of waiting around waiting for our race. Please don't rain.... Car was all sorted and ready to go. 40 mins before our race it rained...hard. Then we got called to the holding bay and watched the tintops have two safety cars........great. The rain stopped and a dry line appeared then the sun started to come out........this might be ok

Got a better start but still lost a place to a proddy BMW and a few others (Vr6 Vento which I passed then got trounced on the straight :o: )
So I set after the 320 and got past and was now behind the GTI which I needed to pass for a win in class. For nearly 10 mins I chased the Golf and had a really good time trying to outbrake him or fake a few moves into Druids and Paddock.

2 laps to go and it was time to go for it. Stayed up high into paddock then switched to low and sailed through on the brakes. Now to just hold it!!!

Caught some back markers just right. They stayed wide at Druids but held up the golf into Graham Hill and bought me some space. One more lap and there was the flag. Class win third time out!!!!!! Fastest in class again with a 59.462.

Sorry for the long post but I've been on a high all day and I'm absolutely hooked on racing now............Addict

You can't really see it but that's an e30 zone roundel on the bonnet so it's one for the zone! Best looking trophy I've seen as well. Giant spark plug. But then I am biased winkeye
