Coded Ignition lock

Hello, I'd like to know if it's possible to get an ignition lock for a LHD BMW 318i from 1990. I don't have the key code tag that came with the keys when the car was new, but some say dealers can get key codes, some say they can't. But I saw on E28 forum that they can get them through here?:

(Not my car, but this screenshot was posted on that forum)
Thank you very much.

The simple aswer is no, coded ignition barrels for the E30 are no longer supplied by BMW in Germany, however you can get a bew barrel and key (the key will be different to the rest of the car).
If you can give me the VIN i will double check.
Are you in the UK?
Jon

Hello, thanks for the prompt reply!
I'm from Spain but wanted to ask here since you are more into these old cars. Is the problem getting the code or that even with it coded locks can't be ordered? I always thought the same, that you need the key code metal tag to ask for keys/locks, but since that guy got the keys code that way for a BMW E28 from 1986, just wanted to ask. I already got a ignition barrel w/key as a fast replacement, but looking for ways to get same key for all locks... And the keys provided with the ignition lock seems to be valet ones, so I'm not sure if I can order a general key for this ignition barrel.
Thank you very much!

Hi there, unfortunately ordering an ignition lock to code is not an option anymore as i said above. The only way to get it is with a key which wont match the other locks.
You could order a master key for the locks you have now, but you would need the chassis number from the original vehicle they came from.
We would not be able to order keys as for security reasons you would need to do that with your local BMW centre.
