Hello,
I am desperate to keep my 1989 cabrio on the road as a memorial to my late partner and the many wonderful journeys that we made together.
The parking brake has expired and I am told that I need to find:
Parking brake shoes
Parking brake cables
Fitting kit
Can you assist?
VIN is WBABA22010EB74015
Many thanks,
Paul Kuczora

Hi,
That's what I thought I'd done
I've checked on bimmerstock and it looks like the cables and springs etc are available but not the shoes, although a repair kit of new linings seems to be an option - need to check with the garage whether my shoes are salvageable.

If new shoes are not available any more, then try a Google search on relineing brake shoes. There are a few places that will re-line your existing shoes. This is common practice with classic cars when parts are no longer available.

Not to detract from Cotswold's great work on here...
if you're looking for park brake shoes the Aftermarket is your best alternative here.
I recently fitted Zimmerman park brake shoes (10990.104.2) to mine and they work as intended - also aware of Febi options out there.
Fitting kits with shoe retaining springs and return springs are also available - I think I used an ATE kit (03.0137-9058.2)

$deity I love E30 Zone, many thanks!
A quick web search and it looks like I can easily find these in the UK.
Agree about Cotswold - I was desperate to find an exhaust system to get my car back on the road (great sentimental value and had been standing outside for over 3 years) and they were able to come up with the goods, but a thousand quid for an exhaust hurt a bit!
