E30 Zone

My friend bought a 89 530 as a track car. When he got it, sometines when you started it it ran fine, other times rough and other times not at all. Now it refuses to start at all.

Could it be the crank position sensor? Has anyone had this problem?

Same problem on my 530d E39 a while ago. Totally different engine granted, but that WAS the crank sensor. Worse when its warm than cold?
