Hmm, i know this car, it has been on Ebay several times and i wouldn't touch it with yours Nathan winkeye .

When it first came onto Ebay the guy selling had only had it 5 minutes "stolen" it off some poor old boy and the body work was less than impressive. The Cam chain then snapped on it and he was stuck with it for a while. Cam Chain at 78k, hmm. Even the best one owner FSH E28 M5 would struggle to be worth £15,000 IMHO and this one is certainly not.

I've had 4 of these badboys (and fragged 2  ). They are great fun but big dollars to put right if rough. My best tickle was a T+T E plater for £1200 ! :) It had some shocking 17s and council tints ! 8O I tidied it up and served it to a nice man . But it took a while.
Munich Legends and others are trying to talk up the value of these cars but i doubt many real life victims are paying these stupid prices.

Sounds like sour grapes to me. It looks like a very nice tidy car - at I know a Guy who paid Munich Legends £13'500 for a similar Diamond Black car 2 years ago. And prices are only going one way......

Very nice looking car indeed, but wouldn't pay 15k for one. Give me an M coupe/ E30 M3 and some change to spare winkeye

Not sour grapes at all, i've got Nr 172, and that looks equally as good in the photos  looks better on the track though winkeye

In the pre track pics that looks as good if not better than the one one ebay. Very nice jam172.

Would you buy an old M5 that's been caned on track days?

I know I wouldn't, so we'll have fun with yours when it's for sale. "That's that white thing that's been ragged to death - don't touch it" :-)

Basically you've laid into someone else's car for no good reason - not really on.

If a car had been ranted round a track on track days doesn't worry me in the least. As long as it wasn't pranged.

That white thing must have been a dog if its being used for track days....

Unless any of you have seen either Jam172's or the car on ebay in the flesh then you are speculating as to just how nice or otherwise they are :?
15k is a hell of a lot of cash for that ebay car and my money would be on it staying where it is unless the seller takes it sub 10k.

I'm speculating as to how it looks in the pictures, and the ebay one win's hands down for me.

This car was for sale recently on pistonheads for £8995. In fact the pictures he is using are the ones from the original ad for sure.

I enquired about this car myself back then. Was owned by an M5 enthusiast who owns a cleaning company iirc, but he had unfortunately just sold it. Looks like a bargain at £8995 now doesn't it!

I think Jamie (JAM172) knows of the car.

My point exactly Jules, i have owned my M5 for 6 years (you've seen it on the back of a trailer Spadge), enjoyed every minute of ownership, it has done 188,000 miles, needs new front wings, n/s rear quarter, and a respray (looks can be deceiving), it's value now is probably 4-5 grand, so why not enjoy it? Even if i threw 4 grand at the body work it would struggle to reach 7 grand with that mileage, so i intend to enjoy it instead,

and it won't be up for sale either Andyboy winkeye, i did not intentionally do the M5 on Ebay down, it's just that i have seen it for sale more times than repeats of Only Fools and Horses on UK Gold

You could also have an E39 M5 for that money, maybe even an E46 M3.

I know where my money would be!

True maxfield, but these are hand built cars and only 187 RHD uk cars were ever built (all individually speced).

I was lucky enough to be invited to the 21st birthday celebration of the E28 M5 this year at Bracknell, the last ever uk car Nr 187 was there and it has a spec that you would be amazed at, including grey leather everywhere and grey suade headlining, it has done less than 20,000 miles and is owned by the Chairman of the MPOWER register, now that is worth every penny of what ever he wanted for it, if ever it came up for sale.

There was also a very rare Hartge converted car (320BHP  ) and for sale at conciderably less than the Ebay M5, which i also saw in the Flesh, enough said.
