E36 M3
Any other E36, including a good 328i which are underated IMO, with change left over for a toy e30
ropey E46 330i

Best bet is to wait until you actually have to buy it though, prices are gonna keep coming down, month by month.

Im amazed you can get a e46 318i with about 90k on the clock for about 3k now! Prices have fallen fast.

I would get a nice low miles e46 if i had 5500 i think. The 2 door cars still command strong money though.

Early E46's suffered from rust around the rear subframe + other problems. I wouldnt touch them!

My E30 325i Touring. Easily. Id probably let it go for £4500 if im honest. Other than that, 328i Touring or Coupe, in the E36 guise. With some M3 looking goodies on it. Or, out the box here, a Z3 2.8 widebody...?.... well i like em.

Im with Blitz. E38 7 series are seriously  If I could afford to run a 740 I would be straight there. Gotta be silver though IMO. Or e39 540. Again cool looks V8 sound track. Perfect.

yeah but half of the cars mentioned still have £50,000 car running costs most of the above will be in a league unknown to alot of us E30 owners and won't take well to a scrimping maintenance mentality

As above. More than quick enough with reasonable running costs. Get as late a plate as possible to avoid any nikasil drama.

I'd use the money to renovate your existing car. If I had kept my first car and spent all the money I have spent on replacement cars, on my first car, well lets just not go there . . . . . . . .
