Hi all
i have just joined and thought i would say hi.
i do not own an E30 but i was up Portsdown Hill on Sunday where there was a damn good turnout.
i met chris (spooks) who told me to sign up as a few of you were interested in seeing my E36.
the difference with this car is that it is 100% wrapped in vinyl, it is not paint. i won it in the performance BMW magazine compotition.
here's some pics, hope you like:

How does the vinyl wear with use? I saw that car program on dscovery where me brewer and edd china wraped a type 2 vw van in vinyl and turned it into a camper/da surfy van thing and it looked pretty cool. Wold love to know how it wears cos it could be a good alternative to a respray.

there is not much of a spec im afraid:
*Car - bmw E36 316i SE
*Colour - Originally black but wrapped in orange vinyl
*Year - 1996
*Mileage - 137500
*Mods - Full body wrap in orange vinyl (K2 Graphics), 18inch MV2 alloys, lowered 30mm at the front, 20mm at the rear on Eibach springs, colour coded calipers, M-Tec front bumper, lip and GT corner splitters, side skirts, rear boot spoiler and rear window spoiler, Angel eyes, crystal clear fogs, M3 Rear Lights, real carbon eye brows, real carbon door pillars, carbon style badges all round, M3 mirrors, M-Tec dorr rubbings, full custome exhaust system and sports cat (MIJ Performance), Magnecor HT Leads, Performance sparks, induction kit, custom air intake pipe, full samco hosing, Sports chip (B&W ChipTune), XCS Currnet regulator, cleaned and painted engine, Fusion sub, amp and 6x9's, M-Tec gear and brake gaiters.
i'm sure there are other parts but cant think of them, I'll keep adding pics.
i brought the car standard and have pretty much fitted everything my self and i am not a mechanic.
it is something different and draws in attention.

this is the best bit mate, it is good for inexess of 5 years.
i had mine done by K2 Graphics (
www.k2-vehiclegraphics.co.uk), they are incredible.
it costs no where near a sparay job for the whole car, id a bit gets damaged they have all designs saved on file so they can re-do the damaged part, a panel costs around £50 or so and it takes an hour or so to do so a lot easier than a spray job.
if you get bored of it or want a change then you can get it off with no damage to the paint underneath.
K2 graphics have done some big work, check out thier website.
i swear by this stuff now. Spook has seen it in the flesh and he coulnt tell it was vinyl till i showed him the spare sheets i had in the boot.
they can do interiors as well or any design you want as they have a huge printer that can print any design.

indeed, this is what most people think. the only bit of paint left on the car is the black on the bonnet and spoiler, the black on the front bumper is vinyl, i had it re-done as the paint was crap and the vinyl looks beter

alright mate i seen you on the other site as well, just out of interest how much did it cost for your car would make easy colour change but would properly look unusual as rest of car (inside & engine bay) would be orginal colour, keep up the good work and go and get a bigger engine hehehehe

Hey there buddy
for a whole car wrap you are looking at around £1000 but i didnt pay anything as i won it.
i thought it would look wierd but where i have left a touch of black on there it looks perfectly normal on the interior and engine bay.
i supose it would depend on the colour schemes. they can do the interior but the engine bay you would need to get sprayed.

it is awasome and even better in the flesh, ask Spook.
it was done at
www.k2-vehiclegraphics.co.uk, go on thier website and check out some of the stuff they have done.
if any one is interested then Jason is the guy you need to speak to and tell him TangoBeemer (James) sent you and he will sort you out.
they dont just put it on and leave you, they look after it for a round 6 months after it is on as part of the service and then you can go back to them when ever you want.
i forgot to mention earlier and i expect some one will ask but with regards to cleaning, it is exactly the same as paint, washing, waxing is all fine, 9i use meguires shapoo, carnuba wax and detail spray on it and it is fine.
