WHAT IS THE BEST ENGINE OIL FOR A E36 318is

hi guys, i'm planning to service my e36 318is this week, it has covered 113000 miles, what is the best oil for this car??
10w40? 15w40? castrol gtx?
any advice?

I shall be putting 10w40 in mine in the near future as I only have 2 service lights left 8O

Thats in a 1998 318is M44 engine at 112k miles

Hi I put 10/40 Castrol for older engines in my Wife's E36 Compact(97000mls) and it is running nice and smooth.

thanks guys, i think i'll go for the same, 10w40 castrol, i'm sure its fine.
