Toyo T1-R's 225/40 R16 - Unbelievable in the dry and pretty good in the wet too...Much smoother ride too..

Eibach springs and Koni adjustable shocks.

JUST TO BE DIFFERENT bridgestone potenzas 205 55 15 (h+r shocks and springs ) great tyre but i will be going for the cheaper toyos next time as everyone rates them I will blame all of the above if they are inferior, but I am sure they will be ok.

I have Falken FK512 on my daily and FK451 on my M3. Very good value, great grip, low road noise and £65 for 215/35/18 is just cracking

I hate posts like this - I'd just decided to get some T1-Rs, but then Fuzzy says they are not as good in the wet and wear out quickly. DOH!

I swear by Goodyear, especially F1 Eagle GSD3s, which are stunning in the dry, better in the wet, and last 20k miles.

BUT you can't get them in 205/55/15, but you can in 205/50/16, which I've had; and had the F1s back-to-back with Pirelli P-zero asimmetricos, the F1s are much better, especially in the wet.

Not much good to you, this rambling is it?

Daz - how long did the rainsports last for?

the f1s are brilliant tyres have to agree

the rainsports came with beemerlads old 325 i had
he had em on for a fair while before i got the car and were both very hard on our cars

cant actually give you a milleage but they really didnt seem to wear much at all in the time i had em, had excellent wet and dry grip and always kept the rear end in check, first time id had em but would deffo have another set when its time to change the falkens

lee may know how long they were fitted milleage wise

I have to agree F1s are the best, Ive had them on a 450bhp evo in NZ, a 230bhp Honda and a 325i with 17s. Amazing in the wet!!!

For the back, £20 partworn one's, with the camber tyre's only last a month so no point in buying good one's. The fronts are fairly decent because they don't wear so bad

On my E46:

Front 225/45/R17 on 17x8J- Bridgestone 050
Rear 245/40/R17 on 17x9J - Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3

I would get the Eagles on the front too but I think the wear too fast so I'll be getting 050's next time. Eagles grip slightly better than the Bridgestones, trade off is tyre wear.

I would prefer Bridgestone S03's all round but I just can't get them anymore!

Smaller wheels I used to run Bridgestone RE720's on 205/60/R15's also an excellent tyre, previously I had P6000's which came with the car, rubbish in the wet not much good in the dry and wore out really fast.

Bigger sizes I had Dunlop SP Sports which were not very good and were really loud.
