Universal Salvage in Sandy, Bedfordshite have a Violet K plate 3.8 E34 M5 going through an auction tomorrow. It made £665 in an internet auction but will be entered into a physical sale tomorrow. It's done 67'000 and looks like it has alround damage but nothing really nasty.

Ideal for a panel up winter rebuild or an engine. You know what these are worth in bits!

How good would this be for £6-700?? :D

To view pics, click on 'refresh' and hold button down. Unusual to have a non airbag M Tech 2 wheel. As for reselling it, it will have a condition alert on the logbook because it's Cat C.
If you could buy it for a grand, buy another E34 for £150 for the panels and do it all yourself it would be a cheap 3.8.

Very intriguing as an outfit near reading called infinicar who have fragged a few M5s are advertising the engine already at £2995 !, using the pictures off the salvage company ad,i cant imagine there are many 3.8 engines with purple rocker covers out there, and i thought i had neck !.
I see someone has chawed the original trim and stuck a standard comfort trim in it as well. The car is shagged ,if you look closely you will note the dodgy bonnet / wing gaps, the whole front has gone over.
The car was owned by someone on the M5 board and there is a thread there about the engine. I bet by 8.00 am tomorrow the bid will be quite a bit higher than what it now is.

Internet bidding has ended. Whoever goes there tomorrow and bids more that £650 buys it. End of! The car is scrap (loving the grille) but there's a set of throwing stars there as well.

You mean the first person to bid £651? Surely there'll be somewhat of a bidding war just from reading Pacermans post?

Blast.

Andy, an E36 M3 in poor body condition would still be lovely though!

Internet bidding has ended. Whoever turns up at the auction in Sandy today in person and bids more than the final internet price owns it.

I see some clown has de-badged the bonnet and boot.

This may sound a 'little' silly... but given it's low mileage and the fact that it's a 'K' plate... does the spec match the age of the car? I thought the wider grille came in at a later date... and could some 'steady old gentleman' have opted, from new, for the comfort leather as opposed to the Sports seats as they were more comfortable? Just a thought...

Internet bid up to £1270 now.

High internet bid is £1270, apparently.

Look at the offside strut tower, its ballooned up!
Its Been spanked up a kerb or the likes.
Which could mean expensive welding and alloy arms.

The damage to the rim of the offside front wheel would back up this suggestion...

And the missing trim on the wing.

The damage on the wheel tho is quite minor, i would expect the tire to have been split.

And from the overspray on the bumper insert, it would look like it's already had paint at some stage... but I guess that's not that suprising on a car of this age...

Mind you... this could be the 'donor' car that Bigupmyself Jo is looking for to make his chariot roadworthy... if he saved all his student loan up, stopped partaking in the weed and sold his E30... you never know.

That car belonged to a guy on the m5board, it is truly f**ked. He had it properly looked at and the cost was very high to get it back on the road.

Most of you have already pointed out some of the problems.
