hi all, my mate is experiencing some electrical issues with his 325tds.

his rear fogs are stuck on and occationally the whole unit will switch off and the sidelights dont work either,

I suspect it might be a bad earth on the lights does anyone else have any ideaS?

Have you tried another headlight switch?

i would start at the lights and work backwards. check all the connections, as the do deteriorate. also, the lights on these are controlled by a control unit called the LSZ - Light Switch Centre. if theres water ingress for whatever reason, you'll be having trouble.

and as steviec said, possible switch, although i've personally never had one go wrong!

erm, damn, i havnt worked on an E36 for ages!! i think its behind the glovebox, either above or below the general module. its highly unlikely that this has a water ingress, but it may have an internal fault? it might not even be that, im just throwing ideas at you!!

you really do need to start at the clusters and work backwards
