E39 Buying Guide? Tips Advice Needed....

Hi all
Last weekend I let my twin bro' drive my 325i Auto Cab. He was well impressed with it and called me last night to say that he wants to buy a BM. Not an E30 though! Still better than keeping his Toyota Avensis.
Given he's a family man (wife and 2 kids), he's after an E39.
Any idea where I can get some info., links, buyer's guides etc. for him?
Cheers

E39 is a VERY good car...just need to watch the obvious panel accident damage....good history and maintenance...just be careful of some high mileage 528's etc for bore wear.
Depends how quick he wants to go...early 520 is slower later 520 is a 2.2....or the diesel is a good bet
If you need help give me a call you have my contact details

Tell him to get a 530d sport, fast car mate, good for tuning.

what the Spend limit Mahmood ?
I have a few e39's on tap
pitfalls.... quite a few
traction strut bushes, rear lower balljoints, damage CV joint in rear prop section etc etc
530D agreed, pick of the bunch, best suited to auto though

Thanks all.
Ant...small budget mate. He's a family man, 2 kids, mortgage etc.
He's looking for a 2.5 but I am trying to convince him to get a 530D. It will be a daily driver.
He just sent me a link to this one which is rather nice
