My workmate's just picked up a tidy E36 M3 Evo cab in black. Even let me have a go in it today. :)
Pulls like a train and sounds so nice.
Oooh, I gotta get me one of these! Much fun!

Actually, in real life, nothing replaces my beloved E30 but, wow, it's nice :)

They are tempting, but just a little to chav still.

Future classic..................................debatable?

Are they realy that chav? I was talking to Zayyan today and he was saying E30 was chav 4-5 years ago, and now its the E36. Shame, they do look good.

they are great cars tho, basically E30's refined, although they do give the impression of being owned by dodgy characters, whether this is true or not (not trying to insult anyone!)

I would not say not to one of them !

BMW's go through a cycle.

They're new and the rich buy them,

Then they're affordable and the wannabe rich (chav or pikey) buy them,

Then they're classic and we buy them

E36 hasnt come of age yet. Too many dogs around. Couple of years and only the good ones will be left: que classic comeback!

I think you'll find more Chav's drive E30's cause of the affordability that a E36 M3 cab actually. If i ever sell one of my cars i'll buy one to replace it winkeye

Where i live e36's are mostly driven by families with not a lot of cash, or young chavs.

E30's either are driven by old men, or young rough/chavs who let their image down. Almost every time there is loud music and loud exhaust dropping the gear through town, its an E30 with a young driver.

The dash wasn't too bad at all I thought. Kinda like an E30's but with softer lines.

sorry, but how can u call a 10,000+ m3 evolution chav? uv got it all wrong my friend, i see some prick today in a rusty arched ''K'' reg 2 door 318is, now thats chav. any old pice of shit will do, they dont want to maintain them, they just thrash them around and think (wish) they were in an m3. notice that you dont see many chavs in a decent 325i(m50) now thats a car worthy of the m-technic kit if i ever see one, not the i.s. so no the evo is not chav, its classic bmw build and quality, 321bhp of muscle. 0-60 in 5.5secs 155 limited. just like an m3 should be(held back)
iv got the 320, shes not ''chav'', shes standard. because i buy hackett tops does that make me chav?

You cant rate a car by the type of people that drive it!

IMO the E36 was cheap.
Not in value but build quality.
The E30 in my eyes is a much better build of car which is why I own one.

I was considering E36ness before I bought my latest E30, updating etc, but after some weeks/months of thought I could of slapped myself!

So I opted for an E30 with the updated 6cyl engine that was used in the E36 winkeye

Oh and E30's are soooooooooo much more

e36 for chav's?

Yes the E36 is a choice of weapon for some Chav's, but so is the E30. At the end of the day, it come down to personal choice, but i've always wanted a E36 M3 Evo cab and one day i will buy one and as usual, it will be chopped the fcuk out off and i will make something different with loud exhaust and loud music. You can call me Chav all you like, but that's cool, cause i'll wave at you when your £200 turd is broken down at the side of the road winkeye :D

It's all to do with the driver. If this were driven stupidly we would all call the driver a chav, if he cruised by at a sensible speed then you would, maybe, look, and possible say ' not bad'!

Car above looks great.

I want a 2dr black 328i E36, think they look great. :D

I used to have an e36 318is thought it it was a crackin car, but i guess as time goes on they do depreciate and yes, the chav element can creep in. I think they can still be a smart lookin car tho!

Thats a 4x4 8O

i think its just the bottom of the range ones done up to look like top of the range that look chav, but that counts for almost any make/model

i agree with afew of you but not all.

The e36 yes can be a very nice car, but now thst prices of them are at rock bottom the chavs can afford them and unfortunately the e36 has become the latest chav accessory. They are mostly buying 4-pots and occasionally a 320. they put some minging wheels on, and drive it as hard and as fast as they can.

I think you can always tell the difference between a chavs e36, an enthusiasts e36 and a family mans e36.

the problem is that the e36 is now getting a bad image and therefore depreciating in value even more! :( which is bad for people like me lol

now what i dont agree with is an m3 evo vert being chav?? a half decent one still fetched 8k and upwards, chavs cant afford that and they wouldnt get insured os be able to run it either. therefore can not be chav.

facelift four pots also seem to be out on their reach for now aswell.

just my 2 pence worth lol

Today i saw a chav (about 18-19) driving a E36 M3 in neon blue. Looked so nice. Either he had nicked it, or is just a wealthy young chav.

Haha, there are a few round here. Their dads tend to be builders, and build their own property as they are in the business. Nice houses, but still chavs with money! (slightly off topic)

how do you knw he is a chav?

just because he was young?

Not at all! Im young!

he had the windows down, loud drum and bass music, he was thrashing it up my road with a done up corse trying to keep up (also chav driven). And wait for it...he had the baseball cap tilted way back on his head. He was a chav :shoot1:

crap e30 Vs. crap e36 , e36 wins

standard e30 Vs. std. e36, evens

minted e30 Vs. minted e36 , e30 ;)

M3 e30 Vs. M3 e36..... lol, e30 no contest (on looks) but e36 for power anyday

Posted: Thu Jul 06, 2006 11:41 pm
by hammoj28
I agree with the above except maybe for the standard bit. My e30 318IS(which is standard) looks miles better than someone i know who has a standard e36 318is. But then again im not too keen on the e36 although there are some beautiful examples out there. As for e30 M3 vs E36 M3. The E30 wins for me too. its just a better car and made much more of a statement. Was also one of the best touring cars ever if im right. But wait a minute.....this topics turned into e36 vs e30 wars.lol. You get bad and good examples in both groups. :D
