Ferrari vid with a difference.

Some may have seen this, but it is superb. 140mph through the streets of Paris.
Turn the sound up, the sound of a Ferrari at full chat is magnificant, and when he blips the throttle and changes down, well what can I say?
This is the blurb that goes with it:
On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a ... all » Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart of Paris. The film was limited for technical reasons to 10 minutes; the course was from Porte Dauphine, through the Louvre, to the Basilica of Sacre Coeur.
No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.
The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage reveals him running real red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way streets.
Upon showing the film in public for the first time, Lelouch was arrested. He has never revealed the identity of the driver, and the film went underground until a DVD release a few years ago.
Have a look:

That driver has a clear disregard for his own safety let alone any other drivers or bystanders - but he must have had knackers the size of wrecking balls to do that! What a mentalist, but what a thrilling watch and comedy moment at the end - underground cinema stuff of legends!
Reluctant respect is due!
What a noise!

i have watched this video before, about 6 months back, its great.
respect to the ferrari 275, but its a shame the sound over the video is false.
all that jargon about the 10minute thing is bull by the sounds of it.
paris looks like a stunning city, especially at that time of the morning.
you wont find anywhere in the uk that looks like that.

Yea the sound dubbing over that is brutal! Good video though!

Again i'll repeat whats already been said. DUBBED SOUND
I personally think that that is not the sound of a 250 GTO. It sounds much more sports car racer than i.e Le Mans type car than anything else. I have a CD from a book called into the red, and it has loads of different sounds from all sorts of cars. One of them being the 250 GTO and trust me it isnt this. Good but not quite good enough.
The first time i saw this vid was actually from a DVD oput of some shop.

It was never intended to be... it's a 275GTB apparently. Read the first post...
Sound dubbing is pants though... and the tyre screaching is annoying!
I have to say, that it sounds like he's doing 120mph, but he only seems to crawl past moving cars... and they should have only been doing 35mph(ish).

I dont care about the dodgy dubbing, the dubious speed or the single camera view...
That was AMAZING! just so cool-had 5 guys in the office round my screen watching that
If I have time to go to Paris on my Europe tour in the touring, then i'll try to run that course

All critisisms aside, thats one cool vid!
Not least for the scenery involved, including all those old skool cars!
Makes videos of twats doing donuts and turning tyres into smoke seem even more school boy!

tbh its al very fake looking i wouldnt be surprised if they edited the green lights to show red! if he was going as fast as the engine sounded like then he would have ran over a gd few pigions towards the end!

That guy drives nearly as good as me, wonder if we had the same driving instructer. I tried doing a course similar to that round where i live but could only get to 30mph because of all the F***ING speed cameras and cops round my way.

sound was tasty but does sound more race car than road car. Insane vid still doesnt topple my all time favourite street racing vid which you must have come across the MTM tuned Audi A4 vs M5. Ferrari vid comes 2nd!

it turns out that the guy who made the film (Claude Lelouch ) was arrested after releasing it, but as for the F1 driver, he got away scott free coz good old Claude didnt grass him up.
i am pretty sure a couple of pigeons were harmed in the making of that video....
i think the 140mph is a bit of a joke, but still, i take my hat off to the guy driving....that was some insane s**t.
