E39 530i help

Hi all
Looking for some advice for a mate
03 530i looks in good shape, 123k miles and no concerns from MOT history etc
But
Engine runs rough with rattling noises, diagnostics show codes on misfires on cylinders 3 4 and 5
Time to walk away?
Any experiences to share?

Asuming its the M54 they are pretty bullet proof so I would check out the coil pack and see what is going on there.

I'd walk. There must be plenty of other E39s out there which don't sound like a bag of nails.

What’s a steal? They seem to be commanding good money at the minute.
Ask the seller to do a compression test.
Just misfire codes? No VANOS codes?
