I've seen a low mileage (sub 50k) 316 compact advertised locally, any opinions on whst I should be paying?

Not a lot, I had one few years back and to be honest it was a good little car, I just can't see them ever making you rich, especially povo spec 316, my guess is 500 to a grand

Thanks Nobby, I just needed confirmation that I wasn't being tight!

I recently bought a very tidy 318ti with 38000 miles on it. It was a nice spec with cold A/C etc. I paid £150 . Fitted a replacement wing (correct colour) £20, a used rear spring(free) and took it for a retest that had already been paid for :) and got a fresh MOT on it. I replaced a breather pipe(free), done an oil change and Koso'd it :D It now owed me £200 and a bit of time. I contemplated paedoing it to within an inch of its life and trying my arm at £1495 but a very lovely victim appeared in need of a turd and I took £850 off her and sent it on its way. I MAY have got more for it BUT it may have took forever. Great car as they are , they are perceived by most as just a sad old shitter for people who can't afford a real BMW and as a result are hard work to shift at any more than banger money :(
