After a week of messing about and burning through enough V Power to run a 747, I've finally got to grips with it and I love it!!

Kieran is a bit on the tall side!

Nice plate on the car btw, very apt!

I SOR inspected another one of these on sat at work, the very one used by top gear against some Merc AMG.

Sure that wasn't an Alpina B5? They are supercharged, never seen or heard of anyone supercharging the S85 engine in the M5.

A standard M5 is good for 200mph by the way.

Thanks all :P

Yeah the seat will always touch the rear bench as I'm 6'6" so I struggle, the 5 is cavernous and generous with the headroom but I still need the seat right back.

I rang Benhams Wolverhampton who was the selling dealer and they said it wasn't a cherished plate and that TW was issued to it. I wonder why it got TW being a Midlands car ?

It's an epic car and a thirsty one at that but who cares when you've got a V10 burble and a blip of the throttle makes you smile from ear to ear!

I've also managed to insure my E46 for £241 to run alongside the M5 so that now becomes my trusty daily and the M5 for best and fun. Happy days.

Some more info on E61's and production dates etc -

http://www.m5portal.com/forum/e60m5_mai ... ectionid=3

My chassis number is CX03251 making it a 2009 car, so it's a late one and the last E61 M5 is on a 10 plate.

Yup. Awesome.

I remember a twin turbo version from a few years back. Can't remember who made it though. The turbos were rear mounted under the boot floor.

No. Definitely an e60. Some yank company did it.

'Only' around 800bhp. Nothing too mad, and relatively weak compared to a lot of the street cars over there.

Back to the m5 on this thread. Does anyone think that it's the most epic estate ever made? Its just the noise and that engine. The newer brace of turbo charged wagons (m5,rs6,c/e63) are even a bit quicker but I don't really care.

Would you say the M5 touring is comparable to Audi's RS6 Avant?

It's an epic motor and ticks every single box for me.

The noise is addictive too 8)

No it's quick and refined as it is so it will be staying stock I'm afraid.

here is the real deal. The interior exterior is choice but the 800bhp isn't

http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/detai ... eyeCatcher#

price isn't that much for that performance i'd imagine. They built at least one!

Re:

the inside is epic

needs some nice shiny paint on the outside and better wheels

I'm off to Switzerland in it next month, it should do it with ease 8)

Back via the Ring too........
