Why such a big deposit?
Was 20% the minumum amount to secure it?
I know with 50 bag motor, a bullseye or a ton isnt even going to scratch the surface lol...
And of course there will be nowt wrong with it and it will out sold as soon as its inspected, so for a serious buyer with £50k to burn its all relative... just means less of the balance remaining... but was curious how that amount came about.

On the bright side if you ever sell your sport Barry.
Sell it of their forecourt for stupid kudos.

£10k cash deposit is nothing
In what sense exactly?
In this example its nothing?
Would it be nothing if it were non-refundable?
Im well aware of the fact that many high end cars can sell for alot more than £50K and the deposits associated to such purchases can run into tens of thousands...
But we can only go about this in a case to case basis.... so you clearly think in this example £10k is nothing?...
So when does an amount go from nothing to something with this example in your eyes?... £20K deposit? how about £30k deposit? lol
The fact that the seller was willing to pay a £10K deposit speaks volumes of the confidence he has in the vendor but dont act like a high roller when your clearly not.

I cant tell you why he paid such a big deposit just that i know that's what he paid.
Maybe it was his way of being serious as he missed out on the last £50k CSL , that one with 18k that I basically sold over the phone.

All of ML's cars FLY out the door, a lot of which before they are even advertised. We still advertise them on the website which some people may think is pointless but it shows people what we sell and it generates interest and gets people on the waiting list.
And i will never sell my sport!

If you are you buying a £50k car which is most likely your 2nd or 3rd car then yes £10k would be "nothing" do the purchaser.

If that buyer has to put down a £10k deposit to show how serious he is as a buyer, then it says a lot about the relationship he has with ML, and the faith he has in them NOT to punt it on to another buyer.... £1000 deposit should have been enough to do that and if he is known to ML as a serious buyer the car would have been put aside for him.
It's unbelievable behaviour from what is essentially a second hand car dealers..
Ps. I've seen Pony's stash in the freezer - it's an Aldi bag

Before you are quick to judge, he was not asked to put down £10k, he just did it off his own back!!!!!

Yep, a good mate has it. One previous owner, bought it 6-7 years ago from a main dealer and it only gets used once or twice a year for shows etc. I don't think he has plans to sell it but I'd imagine it would retail for 90 bags. It really is in perfect concours condition, all factory paint. Really, the CSL was he last of the proper M Cars.
Dan knows the owner anyway, so........

Fair enough if that's the case. If that was me, like I said, grand down, deal done.
What were the circumstances about this guy losing out on the first one he was after with ML?

He didnt so much lose out on the first £50k one, a deposit was taken on it before it was even advertised as I mentioned on M3cutters we were about to sell a low mileage minter, I spoke to the guy on the phone and basically sold it on the basis it was as described before it even hit the website.
Same thing with the next one, the guy put the £10k down on the next £50k one before its even been advertised.

There you go again with that mate malarky, boy are you slow on the uptake!!!
Im fast realising brains are not your forte, lol..
Trying to guestimate the value of my "so called" collection against the projected value of your, let me get this right, its a CS and not a CSL?... How sad and desperate are you?
The above hardly sounds like the behaviour of a well grounded Sikh , as you should know, ego, excessive pride and acute self importance is frowned upon but then again when one is as thick as so commonly demonstrated by yourself on this very forum, its hardly surprising that all this and most common sense things in general tend to allude you.
But for the record while you were on the topic of it, my minty mint 3 owner Cosworth would run rings around your double digit owner Sport..lol.... Not that im one to usually sanction such frivolous comparisions!
