twitchy back end ??

right i just brought my mates 325 off him a few weeks ago but i hit a pot hole other day and its now driving very strange?? i get a feeling from the back end as if its starting to kick out on braking acceleration and going over bumps i been told that this is a common problem caused by the rear trailing arm bushes once they failed has anyone else come across this ? been looking on youtube at fixing it witch seems pretty straight forward but there's no information about if this is what is causing said problem thanks

Wont be the trailing arm bushes, rear beam bushes cause this. Fit some bush fillers to the new bushes and they will last 10 times longer -

yes im sure i posted it in the e36 section off the forum but if its roughly the same problem is this big job? as in garage job or can it be done at home ? i quite handy with repairs but dont have a vast selection off tools equipment etc

knackered rear shocks make the back end twitchy on an e36

If it is an E36 , it more than likely will be the trailing arm bush. Jack the turd on the suspected side and have a look where the trailing arm enters the securing plate that is bolted to the floor.
Usually it is fairly obvious when they are gone, the arm will have moved on the bush and there will be witness marks where it is touching the mounting plate. If in doubt get a prybar and check.
Replacing it is fairly straight forward, albeit a bit tedious. Lots of good guides on Youtube.

The camber arm is pretty flimsy on e36s so its possible that may have bent, or one of its joints is gone which can lead to pretty strange behaviour.
In fact, there are lots of joints and bushes on the rear of an e36, and most will be well past tier best by now unless they've already been changed, and can give all sorts of handling oddness.
