E36 parts are very, very hard to get rid of - especially on that site. A mint black E36 armrest kit (armrest, console with all bolts and bits) are about 30 quid's worth.

back in their heyday, a leather E36 armrest used to fetch circa £100

Indeed. Now they're worth about 30 quid - I don't bother removing them from scrappers these days - or any other E36 stuff. Clear lights, M3 bumpers - all a waste of time now.

I had noticed they have dropped in price so i might just fit the damn thing and make my 'is' just a little bit better.

Stockpile the stuff, be worth money in years to come when nice E36's are hard to come by!

I bought a Coupe black leather trim for £40 in absolutely mint condition but with one door card missing - found one on Friday for £15.
E36 cloth is bonfire fodder - I binned the (unmarked) Coupe cloth from mine the other day when the leathers went in. It's just not worth advertising.
I don't think E36 bits will ever be worth a lot. There were far more E36's built and thus are far more 'nice' E36 bits around and any E36 left in 10+ years time will already have leather/armrest/nice rimz/M Technic bumpers etc. The only stuff that's going to be worth $$$ in years to come is E30 and E28 stuff.

i've just sold a nice touring cloth trim for £21 on ebay! Rather that than in the bin. I gave him a matching carpet and numerous other black trim parts.
On my 328i i've got a big box, chucked the 18 button OBC, climate panel, clocks ECU's window regulators and glass all in it. And kept a the A/C bits. The rest is sold and makes running the new one a cheaper easy to fix car. Rather than scraping £10 for bits and then the OBC pixels dies and u think why did i sell/throw it all away!

not really e36 parts as a whole aren't worth much.

It might be worth £40 in about 10 years if your lucky, I used to pick them up out the scrapyard for a tenner a time but they are just everywhere now, the only reason they used to sell is because the peasants wanted to spec up their pauper models, the top spec models can be had cheap now so nobody is going to pay big money for them.
If you need to replace a worn armrest you just buy a new leather cover off the bay for under a score!
