No pics as yet but my E28 has had an accident, white van or ditch was the choice and the car choose the ditch. As susch she is written of which brings me to the engine.

Eta bottom end with stock 885 head and cambelt/tensioner 1000 miles ago. Full service history. Block has 201,000 miles on it and eas converted at 145,000 miles. Cylinder head was from A-tech with 105,000 miles at conversion. No rebuild was carried out. compression will be 9.35:1. The engine comes with motronic 1.3 and a rolling road map chip by gunni. It puts out roughly 175hp @5900 rpm and 182 ft.lb 4200-4500 rpm.

As the interior, suspension and exhuast of this car have already been dibbed the engine is one maor thing left. I have not formally decided to break the car yet as I am waiting for the settlement figure from the insurance but would there be any interest?

I really don't know. Just trying to guage interest as the car is repairable but at a cost. I will not break it without the engine going to a good home. What is a 200,000 mile 2.7i with a service history going back to the day the car was bought in 1986 worth?

Well that not enough. It kind of worth fixing the car if that's worthless. I suppose it is high mileage.

High mileage or not, if documented up as he says, sounds like a decent donk

The service history is logged manually. The book for some reason was not stamped up. Every owner has recorded in their own handwriting what they done. I have continued that but over the last two years most of the servicing has been done by myself but the bigger jobs (cambelts, water pumps, tensioners have been done by the garage).

I was hoping it might be worth £500-£600 but that might have been optimism and what it is worth to me given I know it. It's not the highest power M20 in the world but it's a start. However if I do break the car I will put up a proper add in the for sale section.

Well I will be buying a E39 now so as soon as the insurance pay up and I buy the car back the engine will be up for sale.
