I know this topic may been raised before,
Just trying to gather some information/experience re classic insurance.

Does anyone know of any good classic car insurance companys?
What kind of figures would be expected to pay.

i use peter best insurance, worked out around 250ish with an agreed value

havent had to use them for any claims though

I was with Lancaster last year, after having been with Direct line for over 2. Direct line was, of course, the most expensive when I compared what Lancaster wanted (£130.00). Amazing.

Lancaster will do an agreed value, but there is no NCD on their policies, however long you're with them. At renewal, the premium went from £130 to £270.00. I know prices are on the up, but that's taking the piss! The car covers less than 500 miles a year!

Just renewed it with Heritage Motor for £127 inclusive of taxes and legal cover. Try them.

randomly guessing frm your name your about 22 years old?? im turning 21 in a few months got 1 years no claims on churchill can i expect to be paying about 4-500 in my own name on a 316,

Ill be looking at this when i turn 21 this year. Hoping for a big improvement on what im paying at the minute.

You under 21 bmw9818? There policies dont tend to cover under 21's... And the prices vary if your under 25. Also, the year of your car with them is an issue, is it 1991 or after?

I have 2 policies with them on limit millege...

320i 87 auto 2 dr is £116 fully comp
&
325i 89 auto touring is £165 fully comp

Have you done a quote with them with you a year older etc? You'll get a rough idea on what you might be paying then. Also, if your birthday is way before your current policy runs out, it might be worth cancelling your current one to take the classic policy, unless you want to keep your ncb for this year etc...

No I haven't, Ill have to get it sorted one day. Wouldnt mind declaring the mods on the turbo aswell. Need to keep my policy for now though, about 6 more months.

yeah i changed my dob to 1989 when entering the quote the cars a 1990 model, i did it as 21 with a years no claims, license for 3 years how is everyone getting these amazing quotes

Limited millege in a locked garage in a good location mine is down to.. My old man is trying to get a price at the moment and keeps getting quotes for £500+ with Lancaster, yet he is 47, driving since 17-18 with full ncb... But cant seem to get it cheaper than me who has been driving since 2006 with 0 ncb...

you have to be over a certain age to qualify

the car will be restricted on mileage

you will be restricted on use, you will NOT be able to use it to commute, go to work etc.

it has to be your second car in some cases

my e24 is £130 a year

My policies cover me for work...

Location is very very important as with any insurance companys.

Oh right yeh it probably doesn't help that my areas apparany high risk even though it's full off old people with families!

They go bye postal codes, high risk crime areas & not bye OAPs..
Even the OAPs have something to hide these days



aswell as location it also helps if u have a locked up garage, insurance approved alarm immobiliser, & not to forget your age.
