after trying to find a nice 330ci to replace my e30 i stumbled across this little beauty of a 100% pure alpina b3 3.3 in estoril blue,
which after 2 viewings and weeks of e mails and phonecalls i now own just in time for christmas
(but due to weather will sit on the drive for a while i recon)

Yes defo M52, it is an elec throttle, just had a look at the parts catalouge - http://www.thealpinaregister.com/downlo ... 20b333.pdf

Seems they also got rid of the oil pressure gauge on the E46

is that a good thing or a bad thing having electric throttle??
nice find with the catalouge, not had chance to see a lot of things on the alpina registar site yet

I seem to remember somebody saying the electric throttle is quite a bit bigger than the cable operated one, so more airflow :D

Really nice !
I have never been a fan of E46 coupe's even after owning a 330ci, but I do like these that's a lovely example..

sadly it's the gearbox I don't like, a Getrag and a clutch pedal is needed ! :D

hopefully it being an auto will stop me driving it like a cu*t and keep it in one piece and not part of a wall or roundabout, although it has got paddle s on the steering for any radged moments i may have lol

Bit of advice though - get the front arch liners out and clean off any rust on the insides of the arch lips (there will be some) before going mad with Waxoil. Coupe and Convertible wings just love to rot and replacing two is expensive.

There is a B3 Convertible in Australia, an Orient blue one which was a motor show car apparently. That one needed a pair of wings before it was boated out there 3-4 years ago.

thanks for the advice , but i dont think i`ll have it long enough for it to go rusty, i just cant get attached to this car like i did with my old e30, although it looks nice its got no soul or character no one really looks at it as it drives past

good, the less people look at it the less attention. So less trouble, but i guess you want a look at me wagon!

Alpina's are meant to be understated class. So all the nobs run over and look at the crass M power and AMG turds whilst the pina slips past. The gentlemans car

yeah i understand what your saying and im not one for wanting the attention to be honest, i think i just got used to it in my e30
maybe i just need time to bond with it, ive owned it for a month and only been out in it a hand full of times due to the weather so only managed about 100 miles altogether
but saying that i can tell it lacks the rawness of the e30 , the fact i could jump in it and just cane it everywhere slide it round roundabouts and kick its tail out for fun kinda makes the e30 a more enjoyable fun car i think, where as the alpina says treat me like that and its gunna cost ya
