Compare that to the top model E30 325i.

MPG something like average 27 MPG
0-60 7.5 (Estimate)
Top speed 138 MPH
£205 tax
Madness.

whats the weight difference though? this weekend proved weight makes a big difference to me.

Look at those torque figures. E92 will feel significantly faster.

The mpg on new bimmer's is insane. Even the big petrols do high 30s.
That new derv though needs the torque to shift its weight. Would you ever see max power? Who wants to redline a diesel? It might be swift point to point but I don't reckon its all that for driver enjoyment.
Compare to a 325i M Sport Manual....

Top Speed 155 MPH
£180 for 1 years road tax
Unless you're doing more than 20k miles a year the petrol is going to be a lot nicer
Plus the 320d is a four, a ragged 4 aint going to sound good at all, whereas a straight 6 getting the beans is the greatest sound on earth
