Very nice! Good colour combo and well specced.
I've really started to like the E63 of recent, the V8 models are awesome but im also really liking the 635d which has similar torque to the V8 models.

Nice car.
I've got used to the back view now (they're always overtaking my 318i!), but the front end...still not grown on me yet.
I like the number plate

The 635d is a VERY good car IMO, with a remap the torque is mental. They are still a lot more expensive than this was though.

I was never a huge fan of them either. As with all of the Bangle era cars, they seem to take a while before they look 'right' if you know what I mean?
I've had some stick from friends about the plate, it had to be done though!

Is this still based loosely on the m62 or have things moved on?
I do think a 550i touring might have to be the next BMW 'estate.'

Stunning.
If my numbers come up this or an M6 would be the first purchase.

I'm not sure about them tbh. I wasn't sure when they came out, and whilst I was quite impressed by the 630i, I didn't feel it was overly special. Same with the 645i - competent and capable, but lacking the 'PHWOOAAAR!!" magic that the 8 Series had. Dunno, they're not really for me. The 330i Coupe E92 is more my thing.

Looks quite swish, but the large chrome grilles maybe look a bit garish - done in satin black or colour-coded, the car would look a proper sleeper...

Black grills are available from BMW.

I drove a couple of 630's and they just didn't feel complete, the 4.8 in this is what the car needs IMO.
My wife and I both love the 8 series too. Unfortunately they are just too old to have as "the main car" now.
The E92 335i was on the short list with this 650. I didn't go for it though as despite it being a hugely competent car, it is just far too common and anonymous.

I've had similar thoughts tbh. But black against the blue? I'm not sure? Maybe a graphite/gun metal on the grill and the wheels?

I sat in 635d. Felt so nice and comfortable. I did'nt like the fact I was so high in the X6. Your one looks great. Great colour combo.

It's not that bad really.
Round town, stop start driving, I'm seeing anything from 17mpg to 22mpg (depends how much noise I want to make!)
On the motorway it will sit at 80-85 and do 27-28mpg all day though.

So the v8 is pinched from the X5 effectively? Or have I got the wrong end of the wrong stick?

A quick search on Wikipedia tells me that the 4.8 I have in this car was/is used in the following:
270 kW (367 hp) and 490 N·m (361 ft·lbf)
* 2006-2008 E65/E66 750i/750Li
* 2006-2010 E60/E61 550i Sedan and Touring
* 2006-Present E63/E64 650i Coupè and Convertible
* 2007-2010 E70 X5 4.8i SAV
* 2003-Present Wiesmann GT MF4 / Roadster MF4
* 2008-Present Morgan Aero 8
The older X5 uses the 4.4 that was in the 645.
One thing I am unsure on is the power output. Some cite 372bhp and other 367bhp. Maybe it's a ps/bhp conversion error?

If I didn't need 4 seats and the boot then I'd be in a 997 or AMV8 ;)

Sorry, totally forgot, will go get one now!
I'll give BMW a call and see what they want for the parts. Quite keen on going anthracite on the wheels now. Cheers

Here we go then, the most ridiculous cup holder I've ever had!
You have this fitting on the passenger side of the tunnel...
Then open the rear storage box where the cup holder itself lives...
Remove cup holder and fit it into the mount on the tunnel!

Very high-tech looking but surprisingly manual and labour-intensive in its operation!
Still, if it saves spilling a drink on that expensive-looking leather, it's all to the good...

Is it strong or would a pint break it

The fitting and the cup holder are all made from metal so it's pretty strong. If you could find a bottle that would fit then it would hold a litre of water easily.
