dials on outside of the car are oil pressure gauges and its not a chieftan, a chieftan was the base model

'Why are the dials on the outside?'
'They're oil pressure gauges'
'Why are they on the outside?'
'They're oil pressure gauges'
This could go on forever!!

Absolutely fantastic motor's. The 442 olds is just unbelievable, supercharged it must be a road rocket.
I'm not 100% sure why the dials are outside, but it is that way with a lot of yank tanks. Just a style thing I would say.

The gauges are on the outside so you dont have to take your eyes off the road when you're dragging it! You will often find the tach mounted on the bonnet too!

That's an awesome bit of kit, I'd love a big old yank that'll really lift it's skirt.
You want to get to York dragway with it. There are usually about 40 cars running in the American Superstock series there. Stuff from 17 second sluggers to stuff running 9's, all on the streetable too.

You are a charmer aren't ya!
That is epic and full of win. One day I would love to own a car with the engine sticking out the bonnet that wheelies.
Although I am sure I will grow up long before then.
