Hardly "the original M car" though.
Looks a nice one, but I don't know enough about them to say thats a good price or not?

Going on asthetics alone, that is one gorgeous car.
Not a great lover of Green, but it suits that.

My father had a metallic blue CSL (fjordblau?) back in '72. It was a brilliant motor and compared to cars of the time, went like the blazes. It was the last BMW my father had, although mother continued with 3.0 CSs for a couple of more years. It was sold in '74 and seems to have disappeared off the records a few years later. Probably got wrapped round a tree

I don't like them, personally I think they're quite ugly.

I was in 2 before buying my motorsport, it was either a question of restoring an old cs or spending the money on buying the motorsport....
I sometimes do think what if I bought that old CS

What makes you think that?
BMW Motorsport, or M division was started in 1973 and they designed & raced the 3.0CSL as there first car hence the seller refuring to this as the original M car so he is correct.

Exactly! The CSL was the car that led to the M division being set up. A truly iconic car.

The CS was what led them to be set up, the CSL was their first baby
