E28 BBS alloy opinions please...

I just bought a set of five BBS 16" alloys off Ebay, as I don't really want to fork out big bucks for the replacement Metric tyres on the 535. So these were up for £50.00 including a set of ok-ish Conti-contacts. I still need to fit spigot rings as these are from an E39, but they are cheap enough anyway. Since I'm selling the car I thought it might be better to offer it with an alternative to the expensive Metrics, and if I keep it, it'll work out cheaper for me anyway.
So ...opinions? Or do I save up for a set of BBS RC splits?
New ones...
Old ones

They suit it well! But I do like the original wheels for their retro appeal

Never seen those bbs on an e39 before

The wheels are from a e38 not e39 they have a similar look to the e28 16" m5 alloys. I personaly would'nt have them i would rather a set of split rims or staggered alpina's to give it that retro look. But if your selling it they would work a treat pm me some info on the car i might know someone intrested

Well the centre bore on these wheels is 74.1 and as far as I know only E39 had this centre bore. E38 is 72.6 as is everything else. I'll PM you the link to the Pistonheads ad, if that's any good?

They are from a E39,i had them on my 528i.
They look good on the E28,much better to use a BMW wheel than some gash halfords tripe.
Plus if you get fed up with them you will be able to sell them on fairly easily.

i think they suit the car well, even the centre cap kind of echos the slots of the standard wheel. i love the originals but being metric must be a right pain in the rear.
obviously some split rims would be nicer, but would also cost 10 times more!

The BBS look cool enuf fella imo. Originals are a bit funky if you ask me but im just not a fan of original wheels of the 80's, well except for BBS of course.

Absolutely perfect Rob. Get the spigot rings though, E24/28 are prone to front wheel wobble anyway.

Look very nice IMO - too often people fit the wrong wheels to these (e39 'turbine' ones are the worst!). Definitely keep the metrics with the car though.

They look very good.
I have 2 sets of style 5's with rusty bolts.
Just dont bother, stick with the 16'' BBS.

If selling I would definitely leave the Metrics on as they were the original tackle......and probably offer the others as a sweetener if a price negotiation arises.
That is one sweet looking M535 by the way!
( however you need a wider angle lens on your camera to fit it all in

)

Quite liked the E38 BBS, sometimes wish I had not flogged them, but too many sets of wheels clutter up the place somewhat !!!
It's a lovely looking car, I am surprised it has not sold yet mate.

I wish E30's were 5 stud. There are so many great looking and mega cheap 5 stud wheels.

Love these E38 wheels. Most 16" E38 wheels costs peanuts as well.

Thirsty does not even come close to describing their fuel lust.
