E32 750

I have won a 1990 2 owner calpso red 750 with tan leather on ebay.
Its a very high optioned 7 it even has a tv/vhs for rear passengers was a factory option but never seen a 7 like it before.
I got the message the night i won the car,

Unfortunately, I have just been advised that the MOT has been revoked following an inspection at the garage that carried it out.
The Inspector found desrepancies with the garage paperwork and certification. I have tried to add a note to the listing to this effect but because there is less that 12 hours left e bay will not let me edit the listing or remove it.
It will only let me end it to the highest bidder. Hence this e mail to you.
I understand if you wish to withdraw or reduce your bid. We can mutually agree to not complete the transaction and I will re-list the car, but this time without an MOT. The choice is yours.
Obviously I cannot sell this car without making you fully aware of this last minute change.
I apologise if it has caused you any problems.
It's a bit of a shock to us as well.

So what do you all think about that,i have had a chat with the owner and he says it was not a lucky packet mot and there is nothing wrong with the car, from the pics you can tell she has been looked after.
Anybody on here owned 1 of these, are the engines good anything to look out for.
Would this be a sport model as it has sports seats.

If you want the car, and the owner is certain there is nothing wrong with it why don't you do the deal on the condition that he MOT's it elsewhere ?

My bad, just re read your post, and let it seep in this time. Is it a case of all MOT,s being revoked for this garage, or just this car specifically ?

I think it was all mots, the 750 was left there over night.
I did ask about getting it moted elsewhere but time seems to be an issue due to work plus with no mot,or tax its not insured.
The guy has owned the car from new, then sold it to father in law now selling for farher inlaw.
The car is pristine inside and out she has high miles at 172.000 which i am sure to a v12 is like a walk in the park :D

The engine is worth that so long as it is in good condition...

But if it needs anything put the same aside for parts...

a 750 i with no MOT etc I would say is worth £250-£500 regardless of TV's or whatever other morsels.

If the seller can't be arsed to MOT it, I think he is being optimistic of another auction ending any higher than that.

It looks very tasty!

You need to consider that, if you cant get it with an mot, it could need alt of money thrown at it to get one :(

Is it possible to get an E38 740i or 750i in a manual ?

Thinking this might be a longshot !

That TV is aftermarket tat, it has no value whatsoever. They used to sell them in service stations.

it might not be, its blaupunkt for a start which most bmw audio related things were back in the day :)

ive got a bmw accessories brochure from around 1988/89 and they have a very similar one in there

could be dealer fit  :)

EDIT: just compared it and its exactly the same, so i would say dealer fit :)

That TV would have been 2 bags back in 1990, the car was probably knocking on 60 ! And now it is worth so little that zoners are squabbling over its carcass ! :( In its day it was a hero chariot but 12mpg and the aggro that comes with a 19 year old 750 mean it is only for the brave ,the foolish or the rich. Be scared, be very scared ! :)

Well i have had no reply back on my offer of £500 so i guess its a no go.
Its only a 2 owner car thats been well looked after, not your normal e32 rubbish.
You just have to wonder why he does not re mot the beast and why in the first place did it lose its mot.

Fair play, well spotted, I stand corrected. I think I was just expecting something slightly more elegant!

Has it been used as a cab? Those no-smoking stickers look a bit official.

Good price IMO, 17" will look too small, 18 or 19" will look better. I had 20" Alpina's on an E38

You executive pimp daddy! £500 has to be a bit of a steal for a V12 limo
