its a 4dr 318is with a tech kit on it, 318is 4drs are not that rare and theres allot more than 50 on the roads! and the 150bhp from the factory is also fake as the m44 is 140bhp.

Well, there certainly isn't many saloons with the is engine, they were in the coupes. The saloon was normally fitted with a lower bhp engine.

The 318is (1.9) saloon was a run out edition that had vented disc brakes etc, I think they probably did have 150bhp.

I think you have ppossibly been a bit quick to judge..

Maybe not only 50 made. But definitely a very rare car.

Yes a very rare car! They had full M tech kit, digital climbate control, and 16" BBS style wheels.

As said they were a run out model for the E36 saloon.

150bhp though? Surely even BMW don't have the technology to get MORE power from an M4x

i have seen many 4dr i.s's on the autotrader, to be fair though not many with the tech kit on, but am certain that it would have been on the options list.

Shame it hasnt got the original alloys on it,but otherwise looks a nice car,they are quite rare as most were 2 door coupes i believe.

You've probably seen sellers talking shit or home made jobies.

ALL of the factory 4dr iS's had the kit.

The first one is a propper 4dr iS and has the skirts but the the bumper is missing, maybe from an accident or stolen.

The second one is no 4dr iS! As i said before, just cause the seller says its an iS doesn't mean it is one!

if i am wrong i except it but i dont think there rare as if there is 50 in existance i have found 2 of them for sale very easy!

These are rare as they were built for touring car holomgation (about 5000 world wide) as they need a 4 door m44 base car to build the touring cars with the s42 for Europe.

one of my neighbours just replaced his morea green one with a 330 sport.
Not that rare I have seen a fair few but definately came with a nice spec

You are wrong, granted there may be more than 50, not sure tbh, but there is only 50 GT's see how many of those you can find. I know of two for sale at the moment, does that mean there was more than 50 made? Of course not.

What about the Euro only 4door 318is with the S42 engine though Barry? Badged as an IS and 4 door!

But thats just me being pedantic, you are of course correct.

I beleive that these 4dr Is's were imported from South Africa as it was a current model out there at the time. I remember being given one as a courtesy car when they were new and was told by the salesman that only around 500 were imported. I am obviously open to being proved wrong but the salesman had nothing to gain by telling me a pack of lies as I'd just bought a Coupe version.

ok so i may be wrong but can admit it! but still the seller of this car is saying it is rarer and more powerfull than it actually is! so am only half wrong lol

The E36 318is 4door was a run out model highly spec'd to move a few cars to make way for the E46.

All UK E36 318is 4drs had full M'tech kit sports seats, sports suspension etc and were mainly in Avus blue.

Rare in the UK yes as it was the last 500-1000 cars on the production line.

exept the body kit and the interior there is nothing special about it. But I do recall that they only supplied the mentioned 50as a special good bye to the E36. I have also seen 4 door 318is without the body kit.
Maybe the rust is also special, ours shows brown patches in the middle of the door!
