And you can pick up some real nice low mileage well looked after E36 M3 saloons for the same price as that one!

Link doesn't work for me?
Loving the green E36 though! Looks awesome with no boot spoiler! I'm starting to become quite fond of an e36!

Link not working for me either.
I don't like the E36 though. It's grandad on the inside, sales rep on the outside, and when modified has a "bad boy" image which doesn't suit me at all.

Why ruin a perfectly acceptable vehicle?????
Bit chavvy on the bumpers and spoiler.

The 4 doors only can be had for around 2.5-3K in evo form but they dont come with vadar seats and the front wing line isnt as nice as the coupes.
A de-badged 4 door could be a lot of fun...

you can get 3.0 and 3.2's in 4 door form, the 3.0's are rarer though. A lot softer than the coupes though.

First M3 I ever drove was a 4 door e36. It was a trade in at the garage I worked at. Needed a new battery (and a quick road test on the NSL roads around Epsom race course naturally

) I remember thinking what a great car. My workmates said it suited me
I like the Evo Coupe E36, especially in Estoril. Makes me laugh when people they slag of the E36 M3 and being not as good as the E30. They're BOTH great cars. There's NEVER been a bad M3, or M5 for that matter. Just different.

most people that slag them off are the ones that have never even driven one

I had a 4 door 3.0 M3, de-cat and chip, it was really nice to drive, and prefered the look to the 2 door too. Probably more fun to drive than my E46 M3 too...

I was looking into these recently . . .
There were 1000 4 doors made and strangley, they handle better than the coupes. The twin vanos 3.2 Evo's have a bit more shove but the pre evo 3.0's, I'm told, are a better drive and are easier to tune with a better gearbox . . .

The 3.0's may be easier to tune, but they're down on power to begin with, so you'd need to spend money just to get on even terms, and then some for more power, and I'd personally rather the 6sp to the 5sp which came with the 3.0, but thats my opinion.

Not quite most 3.0 are near target. 3.2 tend to be the most down (as a generality)
Just dont compare to the US spec M3 which wasn't even the same engine.

I have seen more E36 4door M3's than coupes.
I would like to get an E36 tourer and power it up to evo spec, proper sleeper!

T-o-u-r-i-n-g. The French make tourers.
Nice idea though. I'm really starting to like e36 tourings!

Sould be an easier conversion than for an E30, all parts should (he stands back and waits for flak) be available and bolt staight in

One of my neighbours has got an E36 touring 328i with creams leathers. He never drives it, just parked up in his drive.
I am keeping tabs on it like a sneaky neighbour.

They look great with the 328i coupe split rim bbs style wheels.

You will like my brothers E36 Sport then, he has got a coupe with the original split BBS rims. Them BBS rims do not weigh anything proper light weight. I do enjoy his 328i sport it has a nice balance of power and handling, the wide chassis on the E36 makes a noticable difference over the E30.
