No. In it's own right, it is 'sick.'
The images it conjures up is enough - you don't need to see the rest of the car to get the promise.
It is a statement of intent. Perhaps the one part of the car that best symbolizes what the CSL is about.

As a matter of fact I kind of like the wheel, but it belongs in an e46. I wouldnt say its as good as you make out, but its not bad either.
