new cat on e36 compact sounds tinny this normal at first?

hi all

just had a new cat fitted (annoying as it is eating into my poss future e30 cab fund!)after about 25k revs it sounds quite tinny just wondering if this is normal or should i take it back to see if the heat shield etc is loose?

posibility of a faulty cat,and worth getting checked if your not sure but,new exhaust sections generaly are tinny for a hundred miles or so untill engine deposits settle in the new parts and slow the flow of gasses further.

is it genuine? if its not i have fitted a few none gen ones that sound tinny

nope i would imagine not genuine as it was from one of them kwiky type places..

been back to them and they said give it a few weeks and if not they would replace with a dif make..

did your tinny ones go quiet?

they wont from my experience go quiet, non gen ones seem to be like that! at least they said they would change it for you! i fitted one on my sisters golf and that is still tinny

ill survive with it for a few weeks if i keep my windows closed..then take it back hehe
