Ok I have ternd on ignishon ternd haters on parked on a hill and jacked the frunt of the car drained the system removed rad cap and bleed screw. Removed top hose fild slowley throw the top hose kept filing until coolant came out of top radiator pipe reconnected top pip cept filing untill no more bubble not even small ones came from blead holl. Titand blead screm fited cap started engine left to idall till normall temp left to call down over night in morning removed cap fild slowley then will still filing removed blead screw. chept filing until no more bubble titand every finck and took for a slow test drive with haters on at ferst oigot no heat.
After 2 minits the heter started to work but I notist that when I droped the reves the heter wood get colder after say 2mins and when I brought the reves up to 2000 It wood get hot again
Yestaday the I gave the car a bit of a hard drive just before I stopped wen I got out it had throne sum water out but acordong to temp gauge it had not got hot so topt up and went on my way drove about 1mile and it started to over heat stopt straight away and got towd home
With the heater in the cabin going up and down in temp with engin reves and I mean a big difference the temp gaug stays bang in the middle
Do we thinck it might be the walter pump

Found it a tiny hole in the top pip only leaking when up to presher.
The heater still blows colder on tick over than when at 2000 rpm is this normal or do I still have an air loke sum where is this a problem with the walter pump or is this normal?

Sounds like an air lock. Be sure to remove the fan switch on the n/s of the radiator tank when filling and also crack it off when bleeding. Most E36s that I have had problems bleeding have air trapped that could only be released by undoing / removing the sensor.
