E36 323i Sport
Moderator: martauto
Just picked one of these up at a good price.
Just wondered what it's worth? Also are they quite rare?
130k
Titan silver
Good condition
M3 kit
Good engine
etc etc
Only thing is the car is a Cat C but it only needs a wing.
Cheers,
Jamie.

Rarer than an E36 M3.
Cat C kils the value which is anything between £1500 for a ropey one to £4000 for a minter with low miles.
What year is yours?

One of the last then! Shame about the Cat C.
Auto or manual?

I have converted to a lightened (6.5kg) single mass flywheel on my E36 328i. Makes a big difference especialy combined with an M50 inlet and BBTB.
You need an M20 fly wheel, starter motor and E21 323i thrust bearing.
Also need to remove a bit of material off the sump because the M20 flywheel toutches.
Is this for you to keep?

Oops, forgot the M20B25 clutch is needed as well.
Yes the E21 bearing is needed to take up the travel.
Have you had ins quotes?

Doh!! Take all i have said about the values and forget it!
I thought you had bought a 328isport.
There is no such thing as a 323i sport, its just an optioned up 323i.
Yes fitting a 328i exhaust makes a differance, i have done it to my mrs 323i saloon.

The only official E36 "Sport" was the 328i Sport coupe.darkchild wrote:Wasn't there a late 323i Sport Touring or was it just BMW emptying the parts bin?bss325i wrote:There is no such thing as a 323i sport, its just an optioned up 323i.
Some late E36 323i and 328i tourings were specced up by dealers to similar levels of a 328i sport coupe.
Was just about to say that there was no 323 Sport! It's a bit like the E30's with everyone claiming their car is a Motor Sport just bacuse it has the kit. 323's in general are not as desirable as a 325 or even better a 328. Being a Cat C is also a problem. Cat D maybe not so much. I'm suprised the wrote it off as a Cat C with just a dmaged wingbss325i wrote:Doh!! Take all i have said about the values and forget it!

I remember this also, certainly read a review of it on BMWCar magazine years ago.Simon wrote:There was an official 323i Sport touring, strange of BMW really, you'd think they'd have done it to the 328i....
M tech kit but no cross spoke alloys (had the twin spokes). Example:

Sold: 1986 E30 325i Cabriolet, Alpine White
Someone took the shims in the door out when the insurance assesor came... The assesor said a CAT C write off. Shims back in door fits alot better.bootyman wrote:Was just about to say that there was no 323 Sport!
